Subaru Impreza WRX STI GD Performance Parts & Upgrades
The Subaru Impreza WRX STI (GD) was sold new in Australia from 2002 to 2007, and Japanese-market GD STIs also arrived as imports. It has a turbocharged EJ-series flat four (2.0L in early cars, 2.5L in later Australian cars), a six-speed manual and all-wheel drive. Choosing the Right Part
- 2.0L or 2.5L: imports and early Australian cars have the EJ20, later Australian cars the EJ25. Engine parts are listed for one or the other.
- Facelift years: the GD was facelifted twice. Process West intercoolers come in Bugeye and Blobeye versions, so check the title against your car.
- Wheel studs and spacers: early GD STIs use a 5x100 stud pattern and later ones 5x114.3. Check your hubs before ordering.
Installation
Have a qualified workshop fit suspension, brake, drivetrain and engine parts. Get a wheel alignment after any suspension change, and bleed and road-test the brakes after brake work. Intake, turbo, fuel and exhaust upgrades need a tune to match.
