Mid Pipes for Japanese and European Performance Cars
Mid pipes are the section between your downpipe or headers and the rear muffler, and they decide a lot about how the car sounds and flows. We stock mid pipes from brands that build to proper fitment standards, with mandrel-bent stainless tube and flanges that line up with the factory hangers. Customers buy them to sharpen up a stock exhaust, to join mismatched front and rear sections, or as part of a full system for weekend track days at Sydney Motorsport Park and The Bend.

Mid pipes here fall into a few groups: resonated mid pipes that trim drone while keeping volume up, straight-through pipes for maximum flow and a louder note, and X-pipe or Y-pipe sections used on twin-outlet and V-engine cars. Some are sold as a single bolt-in section, others as a two-piece with a slip joint or V-band for easier handling.
Why a Mid Pipe
A mid pipe is the cheapest way to change exhaust character without replacing the whole system. Swapping a restrictive factory resonator section for a larger-diameter pipe frees up flow and usually adds a deeper tone, and on turbo cars it helps the rest of the exhaust do its job. Pipe diameter matters more than brand hype: going too large on a smaller-capacity engine can hurt low-rpm response, so match the size to the power target rather than the loudest option. We choose to carry mid pipes that use quality stainless and accurate flange spacing, because a cheap pipe that fights the hangers will rattle and leak.
Fitment & Installation
Check the year, model and whether your car is an AU-delivered RHD variant before ordering, as exhaust routing often differs from US or JDM cars. Most mid pipes are a direct bolt-in to the factory flanges, and installers generally work from the rear forward, supporting the system while the old section comes out. Budget for new gaskets, flange bolts or nuts and a spring kit where the design uses them, plus penetrating fluid for rusted hardware. Cars with rear oxygen sensors in the mid section need a pipe with the correct bung, or an extension lead. A hoist makes the job far easier than jack stands.

FAQ
Will a mid pipe fit my year and trim?
Fitment is model and year specific, and some platforms changed exhaust layout mid-generation. Check the fitment notes on the product page against your build date and model code, and send us your VIN if you are unsure.
Does a mid pipe alone make much difference?
On most cars it adds volume and a deeper tone. Power gains on their own are modest; the bigger gains come when the mid pipe is matched to a less restrictive downpipe or header and a suitable rear section.
Will it cause drone on the highway?
Straight-through pipes are more likely to drone than resonated versions. If the car is a daily driver, a resonated mid pipe is the safer pick.
Is a mid pipe road legal?
A mid pipe that keeps the factory catalytic converters in place is generally fine, but noise and emissions rules vary by state. Anything that removes a cat is for race and motorsport use only.
Do you ship Australia wide?
Yes, we ship to all states and territories, including regional addresses.
