Engine sensors measure what your engine is doing, including boost and manifold pressure, air-fuel ratio, fuel and oil pressure, ethanol content, air and exhaust temperatures, and cam position. They send that data to an ECU, wideband controller, gauge or digital dash. This range is part of our Engine Management and Electrical category and includes universal sensors as well as vehicle-specific kits from AEM, COBB Tuning, Link and Delicious Tuning.

Choosing the Right Part
-
Vehicle and chassis code: vehicle-specific kits are listed by chassis code. Subaru WRX kits cover the GD/GG, GE/GH/GR/GV, VA and VB, plus the STI (GDB/GRB/GVB/VAB), Forester XT (SG), Forester (SH) and Liberty GT (BL/BP). Nissan kits cover the GT-R (R35) and Skyline GT-R (BNR32/BCNR33/BNR34). Check the model years in each product title.
-
Pressure range: choose a MAP sensor (2 Bar or 4 Bar) or pressure sensor (100 PSIG or 10 Bar/150psi) that covers the maximum pressure you will be measuring.
-
Thread and fitting size: sensors are listed with their port thread, such as 1/8in NPT male or 1/8 BSPT. Some kits include -4AN and 3/16in adapters.
-
Exhaust pipe diameter: AEM no-weld O2 sensor mounts come in 1.75–2.0in, 2.25–2.5in and 2.75–3in pipe sizes.
-
Sensor type: when replacing a wideband sensor, match it to your controller. Bosch LSU 4.9, Bosch UEGO and FAE UEGO replacement sensors are listed separately.
-
Steering position: some kits are side-specific. For example, the COBB CAN gateway harness and bracket kit for the GT-R (R35) is RHD.
Installation & What You'll Need
Some sensors plug straight into the factory wiring, and others need extra hardware. Wideband O2 sensors need a bung or mount in the exhaust. The AEM stainless tall manifold bung kit is welded in, while the AEM no-weld mounts avoid welding. Pressure sensors may need adapters to suit your fittings. Changing to a different MAP sensor or adding a flex fuel sensor generally means your ECU calibration must be updated to suit, so check compatibility with your ECU or tuning device first.
Note: Installation by a professional is recommended.
FAQ
What does a 4 Bar MAP sensor do?
It reads manifold pressure over a wider range than a lower-rated sensor, so your ECU can measure higher boost levels. Your tune must be set up for the new sensor.
Do I need to weld to fit a wideband O2 sensor?
Not always. AEM no-weld O2 sensor mounts are available for 1.75–2.0in, 2.25–2.5in and 2.75–3in pipes. A weld-in stainless bung kit is also available.
Can I just replace the sensor on my AEM wideband?
Yes. Replacement UEGO sensors, including the Bosch LSU 4.9 and FAE versions, are sold separately. Match the sensor to your controller.
Are these sensors universal or vehicle-specific?
Both are available. AEM and Link sensors are mostly universal. COBB Tuning and Delicious Tuning kits are made for specific Subaru and Nissan GT-R models, as shown in each title.
