Pistons
Pistons take the pressure of combustion and transfer it through the wrist pin and connecting rod to the crankshaft, so they are central to any engine build. This range covers forged piston sets, stroker and de-stroke pistons, piston ring sets and wrist pins from Nitto, CP Pistons, JE Pistons, Manley and Mahle Motorsport. Applications include Nissan, Toyota, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Ford, BMW, Audi and Honda engines. Browse more of the bottom end and valvetrain in Engine Internals.

Bore size: Sizes in this range include 84mm, 92.50mm, 99.50mm and 100.00mm. Ring sets may be listed with an oversize, such as 100mm +0.13mm.
-
Dish volume and compression ratio: Dish volume is quoted in cc (for example -14.00cc, -15.10cc or -26.00cc). Some sets also list a target compression ratio, such as 8.2:1 or 10.2:1.
-
Compression height, stroke and rod length: These must suit your crankshaft and connecting rods. Stroker and de-stroke pistons are designed for a different stroke than the factory one.
-
Wrist pin and rings: Pin diameter (for example 22mm or 23mm) and ring sizes (for example 1.0/1.0/2.0mm) need to match the piston.
Installation & What You'll Need
Installation by a professional is recommended. Fitting forged pistons usually means measuring the bores and machining the block to the clearance the piston manufacturer specifies. File-fit ring sets also need their end gaps set to suit your build.
A piston change is often done alongside other bottom-end and head work, so check our rods, cranks and bearings, gaskets and head studs and engine fasteners. Some listings are complete piston sets and others are single pistons, ring sets or pins, so check the kit contents on each product.
FAQ
What is a stroker piston?
A stroker piston is designed to suit a crankshaft with a longer stroke than the factory one. Check the listing for the crank and rod combination it is made for.
Do piston sets include rings and wrist pins?
It depends on the listing. Check the kit contents on each product. Ring sets and wrist pins are also available separately in this collection.
What does the cc figure on a piston mean?
It is the dish volume of the piston crown. With all else equal, a larger negative figure means a larger dish and a lower compression ratio.
Which piston brands does Chicane carry?
This collection includes Nitto, CP Pistons, JE Pistons, Manley and Mahle Motorsport.
