Things to check before ordering:
- Intake or exhaust: Some listings are sold as intake-only or exhaust-only sets, so you may need one of each. Others are full-engine sets.
- Stem size: Where a size is shown in the product title (for example 5.5mm, 6mm, 6.6mm or 7mm), make sure it matches your valves. This matters most if you are running aftermarket valves.
- Quantity: Check the set count (for example 8, 12, 16, 24, 32 or 40) against the number of valves you are replacing.
- Material and design: Choose between Viton and OEM-spec seals. Some Ford Coyote sets have an integrated spring seat.
Installation & What You'll Need
To replace valve stem seals, the valve springs must be removed. This usually means removing the camshafts as well. You will normally need:
- A valve spring compressor suited to your cylinder head
- A seal installation tool
- Clean engine oil to lubricate the seals on assembly
Seals are often replaced at the same time as valve guides, valves or springs and retainers.
