Connecting rods, crankshafts and bearings make up an engine's bottom end. The rods link each piston to the crankshaft, the crankshaft turns that up-and-down motion into rotation, and the bearings support the rod and main journals as they spin. This range is part of our Engine Internals category and includes Nitto, Manley, King Racing and ACL parts for popular Nissan, Subaru, Toyota, Ford, GM and Volkswagen engines.

Connecting rods: Nitto I-beam, V2 I-beam and H-beam rods, plus Manley H-beam, H-Tuff and Turbo Tuff I-beam rod sets.
Crankshafts and stroke kits: Nitto billet crankshafts, stroker kits and OEM stroke kits.
Bearings: King Racing and ACL connecting rod (conrod) and main bearing sets, including race and coated versions.
Engine code first: Bottom-end parts are matched to the engine, not just the car. Examples include Nissan RB25DET, RB26DETT, RB30, SR20DET, CA18DET, VQ35DE, VQ35HR, VR38DETT and TB48DE. There are also Subaru EJ20, EJ22, EJ25, FA20 and FA24 parts, and Toyota G16E-GTS and 7M-GTE, Ford Barra 4.0, GM LS V8 and Volkswagen VR6 2.8L parts.
Chassis code: Use the chassis code to confirm which engine your car has. Examples are Skyline R32, R33 and R34, Silvia/180SX/200SX S13, S14 and S15, GT-R R35, WRX VA and VB, BRZ ZC6 and ZD8, Toyota 86 ZN6, GR86 ZN8 and Falcon BA, BF, FG and FG X.
Rod design: Choose between I-beam and H-beam rods to suit your build, and match the rods to your pistons and crankshaft.
Stroke: Decide whether your build keeps the factory stroke (OEM stroke kit) or increases it (stroker kit). The stroke affects which rods and pistons suit the engine.
Bearing details: Check the journal size (for example 52mm on some EJ conrod bearing sets), the thrust position for main bearings and the bearing size (for example STDX) against your crankshaft measurements.
Installation & What You'll Need
Installation by a professional is recommended. Fitting rods, cranks and bearings means stripping the engine. It also calls for precise measuring of journal sizes and bearing clearances, and the block or crankshaft may need machining. A bottom-end build often also needs new gaskets, suitable pistons and engine fasteners. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for clearances and torque specifications.
FAQ
What's the difference between I-beam and H-beam connecting rods? The names describe the cross-section shape of the rod beam. Both designs are available for many engines in this range, and the right choice depends on your build and the manufacturer's recommendations.
What is a stroker kit? A stroker kit increases the crankshaft's stroke, which raises engine displacement. An OEM stroke kit keeps the factory stroke while replacing the rotating parts.
How do I choose the right bearing size? Bearing sets must match your crankshaft's journal measurements and your engine's specifications, including the thrust position for main bearings. Your engine builder should measure the crankshaft before you order.
Do these parts suit Australian-market cars? Yes. The range covers engines found in Australian-market cars such as the Skyline, Silvia, WRX, Liberty GT, Forester, Toyota 86, Falcon, Territory, Commodore and Patrol. Check the engine and chassis code on each product before buying.
