Engine pulleys drive the accessory belt that runs your alternator, water pump, air conditioning and, on some engines, the supercharger. This collection includes lightweight and underdrive crank pulleys, alternator, water pump and supercharger pulleys, belt kits, and crankshaft dampers. The brands are PERRIN, GFB, COBB Tuning, APR, ALTA Performance, Dinan, Fluidampr and ATI. It sits within our Engine Internals range.

Choosing the Right Part
-
Chassis and engine codes: Many listings are specific to chassis or engine codes, such as GDB, VAG, VBH, ZC6, ZN6, ZD8, ZN8, CT9A, FK8, FL5, R53, R56, EJ20/EJ25, RB26DETT and G16E-GTS. Check your code before ordering.
-
Model years and variants: Some pulleys suit specific years only, such as the MY01–02 WRX/STI or the 2015–2018 WRX, BRZ, Forester and Toyota 86. The Fluidampr RB26DETT damper is for the Phase-2 engine.
-
Air conditioning: Some crank pulleys are listed for vehicles without air conditioning. Check the listing if your car has A/C.
-
Underdrive or standard diameter: Underdrive pulleys change accessory drive ratios. Non-underdrive lightweight pulleys keep the factory ratio.
-
Press-on or bolt-on: APR supercharger pulleys for the Audi 3.0T come in press-on and bolt-on versions. Match the type to your supercharger.
-
Sizes and belts: Note listed sizes, such as the APR 187mm crank pulley, and any matching belt sizes, such as GFB 5PK836/4PK850.
Installation & What You'll Need
Installation by a professional is recommended. Pulley and damper changes involve the crankshaft bolt, accessory belts and correct belt alignment. Some kits change belt length, so check whether you need a matching belt kit. For example, GFB offers one for its MY01–02 WRX/STI underdrive kit. On supercharged engines, pulley changes affect how the supercharger is driven. APR lists a separate install kit for the Audi A7 3.0T supercharger pulley. Speak with your tuner before changing a supercharger pulley.
FAQ
What does a lightweight crank pulley do?
It replaces the factory pulley with a lighter one, which reduces rotating mass on the front of the crankshaft while still driving the accessory belt.
What is the difference between a pulley and a crankshaft damper?
A damper, such as a Fluidampr or ATI Super Damper, drives the belt and is also designed to control crankshaft torsional vibration.
Do underdrive pulleys need different belts?
Some do. Check the product listing for belt requirements. GFB offers a belt kit to suit its MY01–02 Subaru WRX/STI pulley kit.
Will a crank pulley suit my car if it has air conditioning?
Not always. Some crank pulleys are listed for vehicles without A/C, so check the product title and notes before ordering.
