Cat-Back Exhausts
Cat-back exhausts replace everything behind the catalytic converter, mid pipe and muffler in one system, so you change the sound and free up flow without touching the emissions gear. It's the most common exhaust upgrade on daily-driven and weekend cars, from Sydney commuters wanting a deeper note to track builds chasing cleaner exit flow. We stock cat-back systems for popular Japanese and European platforms, in tones ranging from factory-plus to full straight-through.

Why Cat-Back Exhausts
A cat-back is where most people start because it bolts on and leaves the emissions-critical parts alone. The systems we choose to carry use mandrel-bent stainless steel, which holds full pipe diameter through the bends and resists corrosion far better than crush-bent mild steel.
Material and diameter matter more than the badge. On a turbo car, a well-sized cat-back can reduce backpressure enough to show a real gain, especially once a downpipe is in the mix. On a naturally aspirated engine the change is mostly tone, with a small top-end improvement at best, and oversized piping can cost low-rpm response. Resonated systems keep highway drone down; straight-through designs are louder and best suited to cars that see track days.
Fitment & Installation
Cat-back systems bolt to the factory cat flange and reuse the existing hanger points, so most fit without cutting on an unmodified car. AU-delivered models can differ from JDM and US-spec variants in flange position, hanger spacing and tip cutout, so check the listed fitment against your model year, engine and build date before ordering.
Fresh gaskets and clamps are worth having on hand even on a direct bolt-in, and perished factory hanger rubbers are best replaced while the old system is down. Installers generally want a hoist, penetrating fluid for the factory hardware and room to reposition heat shields or a spare tyre well cover on some platforms. Tip alignment usually needs a final adjustment at the hangers before the clamps are torqued.

FAQ
Will a cat-back exhaust fit my exact model and trim?
Fitment varies by build date, engine and whether the car is AU-delivered. Check the compatibility listed on each product page, or send us your details and we'll confirm before you order.
Do I need to change the catalytic converter too?
No. A cat-back starts behind the cat, so your factory or sports cat stays where it is.
Will a cat-back make my car too loud for the street?
That depends on the design. Resonated systems stay closer to factory volume and reduce highway drone. Straight-through systems are considerably louder and suit track use more than a daily commute.
Do I need a tune after fitting one?
Not usually on its own. A cat-back rarely needs retuning, though a tune is worth considering if you also change the downpipe or run other supporting mods.
Do you ship cat-back exhausts Australia-wide?
Yes, we ship nationally. Longer systems are boxed to protect the pipework and tips in transit.
