aFe POWER (Advanced Flow Engineering) designs, builds and dyno-tests its intake systems in-house in Corona, California, and Chicane Australia fits and sells the range into real Australian builds, not just off a spec sheet. We stock direct-fit induction upgrades for the Honda Civic Type R, A90/A91 GR Supra, Hyundai i30N, Kia Stinger, Nissan Patrol and Ford Ranger Raptor, covering everything from weekend street cars to track-day regulars at venues like Sydney Motorsport Park and The Bend.

Our aFe POWER range is genuinely spread across import, Euro, Korean and Australian-delivered performance and 4WD platforms, not a single cluster:
Honda Civic Type R (FK8/FL5): Takeda Momentum and Stage-2 open-element systems. See our Civic Type R parts hub for the full platform range.
Toyota GR Supra (A90/A91): Takeda and Track Series carbon-fibre intakes for both the 2.0L and 3.0L.
Hyundai i30N: Takeda systems built around the factory turbo inlet and MAF location. Browse the i30N parts hub for exhaust and suspension to match.
Kia Stinger (CK, petrol V6 and 2.0T): Momentum and Takeda intakes with sealed housings to keep charge temps down in Australian summer heat. See the Stinger parts hub for the rest of the platform build.
Nissan Patrol (Y61/Y62): Magnum FORCE open-element intakes for the naturally aspirated V8, a common first mod alongside an exhaust on tow rigs. See the Patrol parts hub for the rest of the range.
Ford Ranger Raptor: Magnum FORCE and Momentum systems for the twin-turbo petrol and diesel variants, AU-delivered spec. See the Ranger Raptor parts hub for suspension and exhaust to match.

The aFe POWER intake line is organised in clear tiers based on housing design, materials and intended use. Picking the right one depends on your platform, your goals and how much induction sound you want.
Takeda (import-focused): aFe POWER's sport-compact and JDM line, styled and engineered specifically for import platforms. Available as a sealed Takeda Momentum system (enclosed housing, cooler intake temps, refined look) or an open-element Takeda Stage-2 system (more aggressive induction sound). This is where most of our Hyundai N, GR Supra and Civic Type R stock sits.
Momentum and Magnum FORCE (sealed and open): aFe POWER's core performance intakes. Momentum uses a one-piece sealed housing that draws cool air and shields the filter from engine heat; Magnum FORCE covers the broader open-element line-up used across the Patrol and Ranger Raptor range, chosen for maximum sound and flow.
Track Series and Black Series (premium carbon fibre): The flagship systems, featuring carbon-fibre housings and the highest-flow configurations, found on our GR Supra applications for builds chasing maximum performance and presentation.
Pro 5R vs Pro DRY S filters: Pro 5R is a five-layer oiled cotton-gauze media built for maximum airflow and high-performance use. Pro DRY S is a three-layer oil-free synthetic media that needs no re-oiling, which suits the dusty conditions common on the Patrol and Ranger Raptor. Both are washable and reusable. See the Momentum, Takeda and Track Series systems above for the full housing each filter fits into.
Why aFe POWER
American engineering since 1999: designed, built and dyno-tested in-house in Corona, California, with over 2,500 applications across the range.
Dyno-proven, not just marketing: aFe POWER publishes horsepower, torque and airflow figures measured on its own equipment for most kits.
OEM-style fitment: 3D-scanned and CAD-designed around factory mounting points and original sensors, so the vast majority of kits need no cutting.
On the FK8/FL5 Civic Type R, the Takeda Momentum bolts to the factory airbox location in well under an hour with hand tools, and the sealed housing keeps intake air genuinely cooler than an open-element setup in stop-start Sydney traffic. On turbocharged platforms like the Stinger and i30N, the factory MAF sits close to the turbo inlet, so it's worth double-checking the sensor boss aligns exactly before final tightening; a couple of degrees of housing rotation is normal and won't affect the seal, but it's an easy thing to rush.
On the A90/A91 GR Supra 3.0L, the Track Series carbon-fibre intake replaces a fair amount of factory intake plumbing in one go, so give yourself more time than the Civic (closer to 60 to 90 minutes) and take care with the factory hose clamps around the turbo inlet, they're a specific style and easy to damage with the wrong pliers if you're reusing them. The 2.0L GR Supra runs a smaller single-turbo engine with less plumbing to remove, so the swap is closer to the Civic in time and difficulty; if a specific Takeda kit is listed for the 2.0L, check the product page for the exact fitment before ordering.
On the i30N, the Takeda system sits in a tight engine bay next to the battery and washer bottle; it's a straightforward swap but a low-profile ratchet makes the rearmost mounting bolt far less frustrating than a standard socket wrench.
On the Y62 Patrol, the Magnum FORCE open-element system is a common pairing with an exhaust upgrade, and the extra induction sound under load is the change most owners comment on before any dyno numbers come into it. The older Y61 Patrol runs the same naturally aspirated V8 in a different engine bay layout, so bracket and hose routing differ from the Y62 even when the filter and airbox design are similar; check the product page confirms your chassis before ordering.
Fitment & Installation
aFe POWER intakes are engineered around the factory mounting points and original sensors, so installation is genuinely straightforward, typically 20 to 60 minutes with basic hand tools and no cutting. The sealed Momentum and Takeda Momentum housings retain a clean, factory-plus look under the bonnet, while open-element Stage-2 systems trade some heat-shielding for a more aggressive induction note. Clear sight windows on many kits let you inspect the filter without removing any parts.
Vehicle modification and road-compliance requirements vary by state in Australia, so confirm your local rules before fitting any aftermarket intake.
Pair with the rest of your build
Exhaust:KORSH downpipes and cat-backs, a genuine pairing for turbocharged platforms like the Stinger and i30N where more airflow in wants more airflow out.
Honda Civic Type R induction:PRL Motorsports intakes and charge pipes for FK8 and FL5, an alternative or complementary brand on the same platform as our Takeda range.
FAQ
Will an aFe POWER intake trigger a check engine light?
No, aFe POWER kits are designed to retain the factory MAF/MAP sensor in its original position, so the ECU reads airflow normally on the vast majority of applications. If a specific kit requires sensor recalibration or a tune, this will be noted on the product page.
Does an aFe POWER intake need a tune on the Stinger 3.3T?
A Momentum or Takeda intake on the Stinger 3.3T is designed to work with the factory ECU calibration and typically needs no tune on its own. If you're combining it with other airflow changes like a downpipe or upgraded turbos, a tune is worth considering to get the most from the combination. Check the product page for any specific tuning notes.
Do aFe POWER intakes suit dusty or off-road driving on the Patrol and Ranger Raptor?
Yes, the Pro DRY S oil-free filter media is a good option for dusty conditions since it doesn't rely on oil to trap particulate and is easy to clean between services. Magnum FORCE systems on these platforms are engineered around the factory airbox location.
Are these genuine aFe POWER parts?
Yes. Chicane Australia sources the full aFe POWER range through official distribution channels, and every kit is genuine.
