Choosing the Right Part
Driveshafts are specific to the vehicle, so check each of these before you order:
- Chassis code: for example GC8, GDA/GGA, GDB, GE8/GH8, GRF/GVF, VAB, VB, ZN6/ZC6, FK8 or FL5.
- Model year: some listings cover particular years only, such as WRX STI (GDB) MY04-07.
- Gearbox: 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual or automatic. Several Subaru and Toyota 86 / Subaru BRZ shafts are gearbox-specific.
- Rear differential: Subaru options are listed for R160 or R180 rear diffs. Some are designed for a rear diff conversion, such as the WRX (GDA/GGA) automatic/6-speed R160 rear conversion shaft.
- Material: DSS offers aluminium and carbon fibre versions for many of the same applications.
- Diameter: Toyota 86 / Subaru BRZ shafts are listed in 2.75in and 3in sizes.
