2-Piece Brake Rotors
2-piece brake rotors pair a cast iron friction ring with an aluminium hat, which reduces unsprung and rotational weight at each corner. The floating connection lets the ring expand and contract with heat, making it less prone to coning or cracking under repeated hard stops. This range sits within our Brakes category and features 2-piece rotors from PARAGON in vehicle-specific sizes. On many designs a worn rotor can be renewed by replacing only the ring.

Choosing the Right Part
Every rotor in this range is listed by vehicle, chassis code and size, for example BMW M2 (F87), M3 (F80) and M4 (F82/F83), BMW M2 (G87), M3 (G80) and M4 (G82/G83), Honda Civic Type R (FK8/FL5), Toyota GR Yaris (GXPA16) and GR Corolla (GZEA14), Toyota GR Supra (Mk5), VW Golf R (Mk7/Mk8), Audi RS3 (8V/8Y), RS4/RS5 (B9/B9.5), Mercedes-AMG A45 S (W177), Ford Focus RS (Mk3/LZ), Ford Mustang GT/Dark Horse (S650), Nissan 350Z (Z33), Nissan Z NISMO (RZ34), Lexus RC F (USC10) and Porsche 911 (991) and Cayman GT4 (981/718).
-
Chassis code: match the code in the product title to your car, as rotor sizes change between generations.
-
Front or rear: front and rear rotors are sold separately and differ in size.
-
Size: check the listed diameter x thickness (e.g. 380 x 30mm) against your current rotors and calipers.
-
Factory brake package: some cars have more than one OEM brake option. Examples are BMW F8X rotors listed by caliper colour (Blue vs Gold/Red/Silver), Porsche rotors for iron brakes or iron conversions, and "Larger Rotor" options for Civic Type R and Golf R/Audi S3.
-
Aftermarket brakes: if your car already has aftermarket calipers or a big brake kit, confirm diameter, thickness and hat offset before ordering.
Installation & What You'll Need
Installation by a professional is recommended. Many 2-piece rotors are directional, so left and right sides are not interchangeable. Installers generally re-torque the bobbin hardware after bedding. New rings need a proper bed-in with fresh pads before any hard driving.
Items commonly replaced at the same time:
Fresh high-temperature brake fluid is also worth doing at the same time.
FAQ
Are 2-piece brake rotors worth it over 1-piece?
For track days and hard driving, the lower weight and better heat handling are the main gains. For a car that mostly commutes, a quality 1-piece rotor and a good pad will usually do the job.
Can I replace just the friction ring later?
On most designs, yes. The aluminium hat and hardware are reused and only the ring is replaced, provided the manufacturer offers rings for that part number.
How do I know which rotor suits my car?
Match the chassis code, factory brake package and rotor size (diameter x thickness) in the product title to your car. If you run aftermarket calipers or a big brake kit, contact our team before ordering.
Do 2-piece rotors make noise?
Some floating designs make a faint ticking noise when cold. It usually disappears once the brakes are up to temperature and is normal for the design.
