• CAR97 MONO6: 6-piston monobloc, gravity die cast, the workhorse Advantage Extreme front caliper.
• CAR98 MONO4: 4-piston monobloc, same cast construction as CAR97, commonly run as a rear or on lighter platforms.
• CAR99: 6-piston billet monobloc, Alcon's premium street/track caliper, fits 355-400mm rotors.

Alcon was founded in 1983 by John Moore to build brakes for Audi Sport's Group B rally cars, and the company still designs and manufactures out of Tamworth, UK. That motorsport background carries through to the road-going CAR series: monobloc or billet caliper bodies for stiffness, staggered piston bores to even out pad wear, and internal seal designs built to cope with sustained heat. We stock and recommend Alcon because the engineering is genuine, not just badge-deep, and we'd rather talk you through the CAR97 vs CAR99 vs TA6+ decision properly than sell you the wrong kit.

Alcon's platform-specific Big Brake Kits are built as bolt-on solutions, with brackets, brake lines and pads matched to that platform's spindle and wheel envelope. Even so, always check your wheel clearance before ordering, especially on smaller factory wheel diameters, since a big brake kit can change what wheel and spacer combination will clear the caliper. CAR89 and CAR49 each exist in two versions: the Motorsport variant (race-only, non-dust-sealed) and the TA6+/TA4+ variant (street-friendly, dust-sealed). Fitting the Motorsport version to a daily driver will shorten caliper life significantly since dust and water get into the piston bores. CRB343 is for race and motorsport use only, not for road-registered cars. If you're unsure which caliper or rotor diameter suits your car, talk to us before ordering rather than guessing off a spec sheet.

What's the difference between CAR97 and CAR99?
Both are 6-piston monobloc calipers built for street/track use. CAR97 is gravity die cast aluminium, Alcon's proven workhorse design. CAR99 is machined from solid billet aluminium for extra rigidity and heat resistance, and sits above CAR97 as the premium option in the same range.

Which caliper suits my build, Motorsport or TA6+/TA4+?
If the car sees any road use, choose the TA6+ or TA4+ version. The Motorsport variants are for race and motorsport use only: they're not dust-sealed, so they need regular inspection and don't hold up to daily driving.

Can I run CRB343 on a road car?
No. CRB343 is non-dust-sealed and for race and motorsport use only. Fit it to a track-only or competition car, not a car you drive on the street.

Are Alcon Big Brake Kits a direct bolt-on fit?
For the platforms we list, yes, the kits include the brackets, lines and pads needed to fit factory spindles without fabrication. Always check wheel clearance for your specific wheel and tyre combination before ordering.
