Caliper Rebuild Kits
Caliper Rebuild Kits bring a tired caliper back to proper function without hunting down replacement units. We stock seal kits, piston kits and full rebuild sets covering factory sliding calipers on daily driven Japanese hatchbacks through to fixed calipers on cars that see regular track days at Wakefield or The Bend. Owners buy them for weeping seals, sticking pistons and seized slide pins, and where a casting is genuinely finished we will say so rather than sell you a kit that won't help.

The range covers popular platforms including Subaru WRX and STI, Toyota 86, GR86 and Supra, Nissan Silvia, Skyline and GT-R, Mazda RX-7 and MX-5, Honda Civic Type R and Integra, plus common European fitments from VW, BMW and Audi. Many of these ran more than one caliper design across their production run, so if you are unsure which kit suits yours, send us the caliper casting number or a clear photo and we will match it.

Three broad options sit in this collection. Full rebuild kits include seals, pistons, dust boots and clips. Seal-only kits suit calipers whose pistons are still clean and true. Piston kits cover the cases where corrosion or pitting is the real problem but the rubber is available separately. We also stock the small parts that get overlooked on a rebuild, such as guide pin boots and retaining hardware.
Why Rebuild Instead of Replace
A sticking piston or a weeping seal rarely means the caliper body is scrap. Most OEM castings are well made and simply need fresh rubber and a clean bore. Rebuilding also keeps the original pad and rotor sizing, which matters if the car needs to stay close to standard. The honest limits: deep bore pitting, cracked castings and stripped bleeder threads are not fixable with a kit, and in those cases a replacement or a step up to a performance caliper is the better call.
Fitment & Installation
Match the kit to the exact caliper casting number rather than just model and year. AU-delivered cars sometimes differ from JDM or Euro-market equivalents, and mid-cycle updates changed caliper suppliers on several platforms. Most installers hone or clean the bore, check for pitting, then fit new seals dry or with the supplied lubricant only, never petroleum grease. Fresh brake fluid and a full bleed are needed afterwards, and doing both sides of an axle at once keeps braking even.

FAQ
Will a rebuild kit fit a caliper that has been reconditioned before?
Yes, provided the casting has not been changed or machined outside spec. Match by casting number to be certain.
What tools does a caliper rebuild usually need?
A piston removal tool or compressed air, circlip pliers, brake cleaner and a clean bench cover most jobs. Nothing beyond normal workshop gear.
Can I rebuild just one caliper?
You can, but doing both sides of an axle together keeps braking balanced and saves bleeding the system twice.
Do all kits include new pistons?
No. Some are full kits with pistons, others are seals only. Check the individual listing and ask if you are unsure.
Do you ship Australia-wide?
Yes, we ship to all states and territories, including regional addresses.
Not sure which kit matches your caliper? Send us the casting number and we will confirm it.
