Alcon Brakes for Australian Street and Track Cars
Chicane Australia supplies Alcon calipers, big brake kits, pads, rotors, seal kits and brake fluid for street cars, track day builds and dedicated race cars. Alcon's range runs from dust-sealed street calipers through to non-sealed motorsport units, so the first job is matching the right caliper family to how the car is driven. This collection holds 66 Alcon products, shipped Australia-wide from our Central Coast NSW base.

Choosing the Right Part
Match the kit to your chassis code first, since Alcon lists kits by platform: for example BMW G80/G81/G82/G83 versus F80/F82/F87, VW Golf Mk5-Mk8, Nissan Skyline R32/R33 versus R34, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution CD9A/CE9A versus CZ4A, and Subaru WRX STI GC/GD/GR/VA. Then confirm front or rear application, rotor diameter (kits and rotors are listed in sizes such as 355x32mm, 380x34mm and 390mm) and, for Skyline fitments, whether the kit is the R35 Brembo-style option.
Caliper family matters as much as size. CAR97 is gravity die cast aluminium; CAR99 is machined from solid billet for extra rigidity and suits 355-400mm rotors. CAR89 and CAR49 each exist in two versions: the Motorsport variant (race-only, non-dust-sealed) and the TA6+/TA4+ variant (dust-sealed and street-friendly). CRB343 is for race and motorsport use only and is not suited to road-registered cars.
Installation & What You'll Need
Alcon's platform-specific big brake kits are built as bolt-on solutions, with brackets, brake lines and pads matched to that platform's spindle and wheel envelope, so no fabrication is required on the listed applications. Installation by a professional is recommended, as brake work involves torque-critical fasteners, correct line routing and a full bleed with fresh fluid such as Alcon PRO-600 or PRO-660 DOT 4.
Check wheel clearance before ordering, especially on smaller factory wheel diameters, since a big brake kit can change which wheel and spacer combination will clear the caliper. Plan for bedding-in of new pads and rotors, and keep spare seal kits and caliper temperature indicator strips in mind for track use. Fitting a Motorsport (non-dust-sealed) caliper to a daily driven car will shorten caliper life, as dust and water can enter the piston bores.
FAQ
What's the difference between CAR97 and CAR99?
Both are 6-piston monobloc calipers for street and track use. CAR97 is gravity die cast aluminium, Alcon's proven workhorse design. CAR99 is machined from solid billet aluminium for extra rigidity and heat resistance, sitting above CAR97 as the premium option.
Should I choose the Motorsport or TA6+/TA4+ version?
If the car sees any road use, choose the TA6+ or TA4+ version. The Motorsport variants are for race and motorsport use only, as they are not dust-sealed and need regular inspection.
Can I run CRB343 on a road car?
No. CRB343 is non-dust-sealed and for race and motorsport use only, so it suits a track-only or competition car rather than a road-registered one.
Are Alcon big brake kits a direct bolt-on fit?
For the platforms listed, yes; the kits include the brackets, lines and pads needed to suit factory spindles without fabrication. Always check wheel and tyre clearance for your specific combination before ordering, and installation by a professional is recommended.
