ALTA Performance MINI Cooper S Parts
ALTA Performance has been building bolt-on upgrades for MINI Cooper S and JCW models since the R53 first landed, and Chicane stocks the range for the core chassis that ALTA engineers for: the supercharged R53, the turbocharged R56, and the F56 JCW. If you're chasing a proper ALTA cold air intake for an R53, sorting endlinks and control arms on an R56, or looking at a MINI JCW F56 intake upgrade, this is where the full catalogue lives. We carry ALTA because the engineering is platform-specific rather than generic: parts are designed around each engine and chassis, not stretched across unrelated models.

MINI Cooper S (R53, supercharged), MINI Cooper S/JCW (R56, turbocharged), MINI JCW (F56, turbocharged). These are the chassis ALTA develops parts for and the ones we carry stock and fitment detail on. ALTA does not currently produce a dedicated line for the R57 Convertible, R60/R61 Countryman/Paceman or R58/R55 Roadster/Clubman, so those models aren't listed here to avoid pointing you at parts that don't exist for your car.

Air filters and panel filters, cold air intakes and intake tubes, blow off valve accessories, bushings, control arms, front and rear endlinks, engine accessories including tensioner stops, interior accessories like gauge pods, pulleys (crank and supercharger), silicone hoses and intercooler couplers, plus specialist tools such as the supercharger pulley removal tool.
Why ALTA
ALTA built its name on the supercharged R53 platform, where intake restriction and pulley ratios genuinely move the power curve, then carried that same attention to detail into the turbocharged R56 and F56 chassis. Their positive steering response system and adjustable endlinks address real handling compromises in the MINI's front-drive layout rather than chasing marketing numbers. R53 owners commonly deal with supercharger snout bearing wear as the car ages, and a lighter, well-machined ALTA pulley reduces the load that contributes to it. On the R56 and F56 side, the PCV system is a known weak point that can pull oil into the intake over time, which is why an ALTA catch can or intake solution is a common pairing rather than an afterthought. We stock ALTA because owners consistently ask for it by name, and because the fitment data behind each part is specific to the exact chassis code, not a rough approximation.
Fitment & Installation
R53 and R56/F56 are different engines (supercharged vs turbocharged) and share almost no intake or pulley parts, so always confirm chassis code before ordering. Supercharger pulley swaps on the R53 typically call for the ALTA removal tool and a belt check afterwards, and it's a good opportunity to inspect the supercharger snout bearing for play while it's apart. Endlink and control arm installs are straightforward with hand tools but benefit from a wheel alignment once fitted. AU-delivered MINIs are RHD across R53, R56 and F56, and ALTA's bolt-on parts are designed to suit that layout without modification.

FAQ
Will R53 parts fit my R56? No. The R53 is supercharged and the R56 is turbocharged, so intakes, pulleys and tensioner stops are not interchangeable. Always check the chassis code.
Does ALTA make parts for the R57, R60/R61 or R58/R55? Not that we stock. ALTA's range is focused on the R53, R56 and F56, so we don't list those other chassis here.
Do ALTA endlinks need an alignment afterwards? Yes, any adjustable endlink or control arm change can affect ride height and geometry, so a wheel alignment is recommended.
Does Chicane fit these parts? No, Chicane is a parts retailer. We ship the parts to you or your preferred installer.
Do you ship ALTA parts Australia-wide? Yes, all ALTA Performance parts listed here ship across Australia.
