Do I need to upgrade my valve springs with GSC cams?
For S1 profiles, factory springs can sometimes be retained (depending on the chassis), but for S2 and S3 camshafts, a high-quality valve spring and retainer kit is mandatory. GSC's higher lift and aggressive ramp rates require the increased seat pressure and stability of an upgraded spring to prevent valve float at high RPM.
What is the benefit of a Beehive Valve Spring?
Beehive springs feature a smaller diameter at the top, which allows for a lighter titanium retainer. This reduces the overall mass of the valvetrain, improving harmonic stability and allowing the engine to rev more safely and efficiently compared to traditional dual-spring setups.
