Chicane Australia stocks the full Paragon Performance brake range for Subaru WRX and STI — 1-piece cast rotors, 2-piece rotors, and complete big brake kits. The WRX and STI are two of the most track-driven cars in Australia, and they're hard on brakes: all-wheel drive, turbocharged torque, and owners who actually use them. Factory Brembo calipers on the STI are capable hardware, but OEM rotors crack, warp and glaze under repeated heavy use. Paragon's rotor range is engineered to solve those problems directly — same Japanese-grade cast iron metallurgy across the 1-piece and 2-piece lines, with the 2-piece adding aluminium centre hats for weight reduction and thermal isolation. Every Paragon product listed here is a direct bolt-on to your factory caliper, or in the case of the big brake kits, a complete caliper-and-rotor upgrade package.
The Paragon Range for WRX & STI
1-Piece Cast Rotors — Same Technology, Lower Cost
Paragon's 1-piece cast rotors use the same high-carbon cast iron metallurgy, heat treatment and friction ring design as their 2-piece range — just cast as a single-piece rotor with an integrated hat. You get the Paragon iron quality and the straight-groove slot pattern that improves cold bite and pad-gas evacuation, without the cost of the aluminium centre hat and floating hardware. For WRX and STI owners who want a meaningful rotor upgrade over OEM but aren't chasing unsprung weight reduction, the 1-piece cast is the right starting point. Direct bolt-on fitment to your factory caliper — same thickness, same diameter, same bolt pattern.
2-Piece Rotors — Weight Reduction & Thermal Isolation
Same friction ring metallurgy as the 1-piece, bolted to a CNC-machined aluminium centre hat with stainless floating hardware. Typically 3–4kg lighter per corner than OEM, with the aluminium hat acting as a thermal insulator to keep heat out of the wheel bearing. Serviceable — when the friction ring wears out, you replace just the ring, not the whole rotor. Straight-groove slot pattern as standard. The right upgrade for a track-driven WRX or STI, or for any enthusiast who wants measurable improvement in steering response.
PA055 Front Big Brake Kit
4-piston forged monoblock front caliper paired with Paragon 2-piece rotors. Lighter and more compact than the PA015, with fitment under 17" and 18" wheels where the larger 6-piston BBK won't clear. The right choice for most daily-driven WRX and STI owners stepping up from the factory Brembo 4-pot caliper to a true motorsport-grade upgrade.
PA015 / PA035 Front Big Brake Kit
6-piston forged monoblock front caliper on 355–380mm 2-piece rotors. The flagship front BBK — serious thermal capacity for time attack, hillclimb and sustained track work. Requires 18"+ wheels depending on specific configuration.
PA025 Rear Big Brake Kit
4-piston forged rear caliper with 2-piece rotor. Designed specifically to balance front BBK setups — if you upgrade the front, you eventually need to upgrade the rear to keep brake bias correct under heavy braking.
Fitment by WRX & STI Generation
02-07 WRX (GDA / GGA)
2-piece front and rear rotors available for the bug-eye and blob-eye WRX. These cars are increasingly popular track platforms in Australia and the Paragon 2-piece is one of the few quality rotor upgrades still in active production. Also eligible for the PA055 front BBK if you want to move beyond the single-piston sliding factory caliper.
04-17 STI with 4-Pot Brembo Calipers (GDB / GRF / GVF / VAB)
The biggest and most common Paragon WRX/STI market. 1-piece cast and 2-piece rotors for the front and rear Brembo 4-pot fitment, plus PA055, PA015/PA035 and PA025 big brake kits for owners stepping up. The factory Brembo 4-pot is a genuinely capable caliper — paired with Paragon 2-piece rotors and a track pad like DIXCEL Z or ES, it handles hard club-level track work without fade.
18+ STI with 6-Pot Brembo Calipers (VAB / VAF)
The later 18+ STI moved to a 6-piston front Brembo with a different rotor specification. Paragon 2-piece rotors are fitment-specific to this caliper and are the ideal upgrade for VAB/VAF Spec.R and Final Edition owners who want to preserve the factory caliper while addressing the known OEM rotor cracking issue on track-driven cars.
22+ WRX (VB)
The newest-generation WRX uses a revised brake system and Paragon has developed dedicated 2-piece rotors for the platform. Worth noting that the VB WRX no longer comes in STI form in most markets — for owners who want the STI-level brake upgrade the factory didn't provide, the Paragon BBK options are the answer.
Subaru BRZ (related platform)
Paragon 2-piece rotors and PA055 front / PA025 rear BBK packages are also available for the BRZ. If you have both a BRZ and a WRX/STI in the garage, the same Paragon metallurgy and engineering applies across both builds. See the Paragon for BRZ / 86 / GR86 page for full detail.
Spec-C Type RA-R (GDB, GRB, GVB)
Paragon also supports the lightweight Spec-C variants, which came from the factory with different brake specifications to the standard STI. Fitment is model-specific — contact us to confirm the correct part numbers for your exact chassis code and production year.
Choosing the Right Paragon Setup for Your Build
Street-Driven WRX or STI — Entry Rotor Upgrade
If you want better bite, better heat resistance and better longevity than factory rotors without the cost of a full 2-piece setup, Paragon 1-piece cast rotors with a street-compound pad (DIXCEL M Type for low-dust daily use, or DIXCEL Z Type for spirited driving) is the right call. You keep your factory calipers, factory brake lines, factory master cylinder — it's a rotor and pad change only.
Daily Driven with Weekend Track Use
Step up to Paragon 2-piece rotors. The weight reduction is measurable in steering response on road, and the thermal isolation and heat capacity of the two-piece construction handle track-day load without cracking the friction ring. Pair with a DIXCEL Z or ES compound pad and high-temperature brake fluid.
Dedicated Track Car or Time Attack Build
If you're doing track days every month, consider the Paragon PA055 or PA015/PA035 front BBK with PA025 rear BBK for balance. You gain larger rotor diameter, larger pad area, and a caliper designed for sustained thermal cycling — three things that together dramatically extend the usable stint length before you need to pit for cooldown.
Motorsport / Competition
For sharp-end builds running slicks, the Paragon motorsport-spec two-piece rings and full Alcon-collaboration CAR97/CAR98 packages are available to order. Contact us to discuss spec.
Why Paragon for a Subaru Build?
Three reasons Paragon is a strong choice for WRX and STI specifically:
-
Weight matters on a Subaru — WRX and STI aren't light cars. Every kilogram of unsprung mass removed from the front corners pays back in steering response, and the boxer engine's forward weight bias means the front brakes are already doing most of the work. Lighter rotors let the front end react faster.
-
Thermal capacity matters in Australia — Australian track days run hotter than most, particularly in summer at circuits like The Bend and Sydney Motorsport Park. Paragon's high-carbon iron metallurgy and (on the 2-piece) isolated aluminium hat design are engineered for this kind of sustained thermal load.
-
Serviceability matters on a track car — Paragon 2-piece rotors use replaceable friction rings. Over three or four seasons of regular track use, the running cost of replacement rings is significantly lower than replacing complete one-piece rotors.
Chicane Australia is your Australian stockist for Paragon Performance. All products are genuine Paragon supplied direct from the manufacturer, with straight-groove slot pattern as standard on rotors. Australian-held stock on popular WRX and STI fitments; direct-order capability for less common applications and specific caliper colour options on BBK packages.
