Why Paragon for BRZ / 86 / GR86

Weight matters most on a light car. The whole appeal of this platform is how it changes direction, and hanging heavy BBK hardware off the corners undoes that. Paragon's forged monoblock calipers on aluminium-hatted 2-piece rotors keep unsprung mass down instead of adding to it. On a rear-drive chassis, brake bias also matters more than people expect. Fit a front-only BBK and you push bias forward, which hurts stability under trail braking. That's why we always spec the PA025 rear alongside the PA055 or PA015/PA035 front rather than selling front kits in isolation. For Performance Pack cars already running factory Brembo 4-pots, Paragon 2-piece rotors are the best-value step: keep the caliper, drop the rotor weight, gain serviceable friction rings.

Fitment & Installation

1st gen ZC6/ZN6 cars (2012-2021) run 294mm front rotors on single-piston sliding calipers, or factory Brembo 4-pots on later Performance Pack models. 2nd gen ZD8/ZN8 GR86 and BRZ (2022+) run a different rotor diameter and caliper mount, so don't cross-shop parts between generations. PA055 fits under 17" wheels; PA015/PA035 6-piston needs 18"+. Always check clearance with your specific wheel offset before ordering a BBK, and budget for new brake lines and a bed-in procedure with whatever pad you run alongside it.

FAQ

Do I need a big brake kit or will pads and rotors do? If you're doing the odd track day, a 2-piece rotor and a good pad compound covers most people. Full BBK makes sense once you're doing regular sessions or you've added power.

Will Paragon rotors fit my 1st gen non-Brembo BRZ? Yes, the 2-piece and 1-piece rotors are matched to the standard single-piston caliper as well as the factory Brembo setup, just make sure you order the correct part for your caliper.

Do I need titanium shims with these pads? They help manage heat transfer to the caliper pistons and reduce squeal on track-compound pads. Worth adding if you're running anything harder than a street pad.
