Identify your caliper, not just your model

DIXCEL pads are caliper-specific. Base WRX models (GC, GD, GR, VA, VB) use single-piston slide calipers front and rear, while STI models from GDB onwards — plus the WRX STI tS and other Brembo-equipped variants — run Brembo 4-piston fronts. The 2018+ WRX STI (VAB) is listed separately with 6-piston front and 2-piston rear fitments. The Brembo 4-piston front pad is shared with other Brembo-equipped cars including the Toyota 86 (track pack), Mitsubishi Evo and Renault Megane RS. Most WRX and STI generations share common rear pad fitments, so confirm the rear caliper specification before ordering.

Daily driving and street use

The M Type is the low-dust option for daily-driven WRX and STI models, reducing brake dust compared with factory pads — particularly noticeable on Brembo-equipped STIs. Premium and EC Type compounds offer factory-equivalent performance with improved initial bite and pad life for commuting.

Spirited street and track days

The Z Type is DIXCEL's all-round performance compound, using graphite metallic construction for strong bite from cold and consistent friction under repeated hard braking. ES Type and S Type sit between street and track, with progressively more bite and heat resistance.

The RA Type, RE Type and Specom-B compounds are intended for dedicated circuit and time attack use, where high-temperature stability and consistent pedal feel matter most.

Rotors

DIXCEL SD (6-slot) and FS (slotted) rotors are available for WRX and STI in both standard and Brembo sizes, with high-carbon metallurgy that provides 20% better thermal crack resistance than standard discs. FP (plain) rotors use the same high-carbon material without slots for a quieter, dust-free rotor surface. Two-piece front discs are also listed for the 4-pot Brembo fitment in 326x30mm.
