Daily Driving & Street Use

BMW M car owners know the frustration — dark grey wheels within a day of washing. The M Type is DIXCEL's ultra-low dust compound and it was essentially designed for cars exactly like the M3 and M4. It virtually eliminates brake dust while delivering a more linear, progressive pedal feel than the aggressive factory pads. For M2, M3, and M4 owners who daily drive and want clean wheels, the M Type is the single best upgrade you can make. The Premium and EC Type compounds offer OEM-equivalent replacements with improved initial bite and pad life.

Caliper Fitment — F8X vs G8X

The F8X and G8X M cars use different brake hardware, so pad fitments are not interchangeable between generations:

F87 M2 / F80 M3 / F82 M4: The F8X generation runs Brembo-manufactured 6-piston front calipers with 380mm discs (standard) or 400mm discs (Competition / CS). Rear calipers are single-piston floating type. DIXCEL covers both front and rear across the full compound range. The F87 M2 (non-Competition) uses smaller front calipers — confirm your variant when ordering.

G87 M2 / G80 M3 / G82 M4: The G8X generation uses a completely different caliper and rotor package. Front pads are unique to the G8X platform and not shared with the F8X. DIXCEL offers dedicated G8X fitments across the compound range. Note that the G8X is available with optional carbon-ceramic brakes — DIXCEL pads are designed for iron rotors.
