The Lotus Exige and Elise are purpose-built lightweight performance cars that reward every modification with measurable gains on track. With supercharged and turbocharged conversions increasingly common on the Toyota-powered 2ZZ-GE and 2GR-FE platforms, upgraded fuel injectors are essential to support the additional fuel demand — particularly on E85 where flow requirements increase by 30 to 40% over petrol.

Lotus Exige / Elise (2005+)
The Series 2 and Series 3 Exige and Elise use Toyota powertrains — the 1.8-litre 2ZZ-GE (often factory supercharged in the Exige S) and the 3.5-litre 2GR-FE V6 in the later Exige S and Exige Cup models. Both engines are popular platforms for further forced induction upgrades, and the factory injectors reach their limit once boost is increased or E85 is introduced.
A set of four Injector Dynamics ID1050x injectors on the 2ZZ-GE supports approximately 320 to 440kW at the crank on petrol at 80% duty cycle — far more than any realistic Exige four-cylinder build will produce, which means the injectors operate at low duty cycles with excellent idle quality and throttle response. On E85, four ID1050x injectors cover up to approximately 220 to 320kW. For the V6 2GR-FE, a set of six ID1050x injectors provides approximately 480 to 660kW on petrol.
For higher-power builds on E85 or methanol, the ID1300x, ID1750x, and ID2600x are available. Select "Exige/Elise 05+" when ordering.
In a lightweight car like the Exige or Elise, drivability matters as much as peak power. Injector Dynamics' complete characterisation data — dynamic slope flow rates, dead time values across voltage and pressure ranges, and dynamic flow matching — ensures your tuner can calibrate the ECU for smooth idle, clean throttle transitions, and precise fuelling at every point in the rev range. This data is compatible with all major ECU platforms including Haltech, MoTeC, Link, and AEM.
All ID injectors are fully compatible with petrol, E85, E100, and methanol with corrosion-resistant stainless steel internals designed for extended service.
