Tomei Powered Japan & the SR20DET Platform

The SR20DET is one of the engines Tomei grew up on. After founding the company in 1968 as a Nissan racing constructor, Seiichi Suzuki and the Tomei team developed performance hardware for the CA18DET in the early S13 before the SR20DET took over in 1991 and became the defining Japanese turbo four-cylinder of the 1990s. Today Tomei still manufactures SR20DET-specific hardware at the Machida, Tokyo facility — the platform has that much depth of development behind it.

EXPREME Ti Titanium Muffler — Nissan Silvia / 180SX (PS13 / RPS13)

SKU 440024. Full titanium cat-back muffler for the S13-generation Silvia and 180SX (both PS13 coupe and RPS13 hatch). 80mm titanium piping throughout, clamp-band connections replacing conventional flanges for reduced weight, oversized silencer shell with the signature EXPREME Ti burnt-blue gradient finish and embossed Tomei logo. Designed around the SR20DET's exhaust characteristics for the S13 chassis. The loudest and lightest Tomei option for a drift, street-strip or track-built Silvia.

EXPREME Ti Titanium Muffler — Nissan Silvia S14

SKU 440025. The S14-specific (and 200SX in the Australian market) EXPREME Ti muffler. Same full titanium construction as the PS13 version, but with fitment and piping tuned for the S14 chassis. Suits street, drift and track-focused S14 builds where weight reduction and race-spec sound matter more than daily quietness.

Full-Cast SR20DET Turbo Outlet Pipe (With EAI) — PS13 / RPS13

SKU 423003. Cast stainless turbo outlet for the PS13/RPS13 SR20DET with the EAI (Exhaust Air Injection) port retained. Direct bolt-on replacement for the factory outlet — cast construction delivers thermal stability that welded stainless can't match, and the optimised geometry improves flow off the turbo. For S13 chassis that still have (and need) the EAI system connected.

Full-Cast SR20DET Turbo Outlet Pipe (No EAI) — PS13 / RPS13 / S14 / S15

SKU 423004. Cast stainless turbo outlet for the full SR20DET chassis range — PS13, RPS13, S14 and S15. This is the EAI-delete version, for builds where the Exhaust Air Injection system has been removed (most tuned SR20DETs). The go-to Tomei outlet for any tuned SR20 build that doesn't need the EAI port. Same cast thermal stability as the EAI version.

The full-cast outlet (SKU 423004) is the cross-fit part across PS13, S14 and S15. Muffler fitment is strictly chassis-specific. Confirm the exact Tomei part before ordering — we can help match the right variant to your car.

• S15 owner: Full-Cast outlet (423004) is in stock. The S15-specific EXPREME Ti muffler is currently out of production worldwide pending a Tomei Japan renewal — get in touch and we'll flag availability when it returns.

Genuine Tomei Japan — Not Tomei USA

There are two companies selling exhausts under the "Tomei" name globally. Tomei Powered Inc. (Japan) is the original, founded in 1968 in Machida, Tokyo — they developed the EXPREME Ti range and still build every genuine product. Tomei Powered USA was originally Tomei Japan's North American subsidiary, established in 2006, split off as a separate company in 2014, and fully independent since February 2019. Tomei Japan has publicly stated that Tomei USA products are not designed, supervised, tested, manufactured or quality-checked by them — Tomei USA part numbers typically start with "T". Every Tomei Silvia, 180SX and 200SX product at Chicane Australia is genuine Tomei Japan stock with numeric Machida-issued part numbers.

Road Legality & ADR Notes

EXPREME Ti race-spec mufflers are developed for track use and are not guaranteed to meet Australian noise regulations in every state. Given the age of most S13, S14 and S15 chassis in Australia, state-specific modification, noise and inspection rules may also apply. NSW, VIC, QLD and WA all have different dB limits and vehicle-age thresholds. If state noise-testing or ADR compliance is a priority, get in touch before ordering.
