Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution I (CD9A) 1992–1994 Performance Parts & Upgrades
The original Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution I (CD9A) was built for Japan from 1992 to 1994, so cars here are JDM imports in GSR or RS form. It uses the 2.0L 4G63T turbo four-cylinder with all-wheel drive. This page lists the parts we stock for the Evo I, led by GSC Power-Division camshafts, valves, springs and guides, with HARDRACE coilovers, arms and bushes, Radium fuel parts, GFB and Turbosmart blow off valves, AEM cam gears, Supertech valves, a Link plug-in ECU and Alcon and Paragon big brake kits.
Engine: GSC Power-Division Evo 1-3 camshafts, valves, springs, retainers, guides and seats, Supertech valves and AEM Tru-Time cam gears.
Fuel: Radium fuel line kits and fuel filters.
Boost: GFB and Turbosmart blow off valves.
Suspension: HARDRACE HS Spec coilovers, rear camber kits, toe arms and a full range of rear bushes in rubber or pillow ball.
Brakes and ECU: Alcon and Paragon front big brake kits, Frenkit caliper rebuild kits and the Link EVOLink plug-in ECU.
Choosing the Right Part
Evo I-III or IV-on: the Evo IV changed the platform and turned the engine around, so many 4G63 and chassis parts are made for Evo IV-IX only. Check that Evo I or CD9A is named in the title.
GSR or RS: the RS was a lighter competition base with different equipment. Check brake and trim parts against your car.
Imported cars: many Evo Is have been modified over the years. Confirm what is fitted, such as the brakes and turbo, before you order.
Installation
Engine internals, fuel and ECU work should be done by an experienced engine builder or tuner. Have suspension and brake parts fitted by a qualified workshop, get a wheel alignment afterwards, and bleed and road-test the brakes after brake work.
