Why Turbosmart
The GenV wastegates update the older design with improved thermal handling and a rotatable actuator housing that makes routing reference lines easier in tight engine bays. On electronically controlled cars such as the Civic Type R and Golf R, the Kompact EM series plugs into the factory harness, so the ECU continues to control it as it would the stock valve while eliminating the boost leaks common with plastic OEM units. The OPR T40 is designed for ball-bearing turbos, regulating oil feed pressure to 40psi to help protect turbo seals.
Choosing the Right Part
Kompact EM valves are designed as plug-and-play replacements for a specific factory valve, so check the part number for your model and year. GenV wastegates must be matched to your turbo's boost target and exhaust housing, so have your setup details ready when choosing spring and gate size. Fuel pressure regulators should be matched to your injector and fuel pump combination.
Installation & What You'll Need
Installation by a professional is recommended. A Kompact EM valve is designed to work with the factory ECU without a retune. External wastegates on aftermarket turbo setups usually need a tune to get the boost curve right. The OPR T40 is installed in the turbo oil feed line and doesn't require ECU changes.
