The range covers Clubsport steering wheels, PRO Series steering wheels, quick release hub kits, and shift light kits. Most customers buy the wheel and quick release together, then add a shift light kit once they start doing regular track days.

The Clubsport is the wheel we recommend for a car that still does regular street driving. It keeps a rounder profile, a slightly thicker rim, and multi-function buttons if your car came with them from factory, so indicators and cruise control still work properly. The PRO Series is the flat-bottom, track-focused option: thinner grip, more aggressive suede or leather combinations, and it is the one we fit for customers doing GT3 Cup-style track days or GR86 club racing where the smaller diameter and quicker steering feel matter more than daily comfort.

On quick release compatibility, KMP's own hub matches its own wheels reliably, that is the pairing we install and recommend. We do not recommend mixing a KMP wheel with a different brand's quick release hub. The splines and detent depth are not universal across manufacturers, and a mismatched hub is a genuine safety issue, not just an inconvenience.

Shift light kits on the BMW M cars need the multi-function wheel retained or an aftermarket display added, since the kit reads off the CAN bus wiring behind the factory wheel. On the Porsche GT3 and Toyota GR platforms, the shift light kit wiring loom is different again, so a kit bought for a BMW will not simply plug into a Porsche or GR car. Always order the shift light kit for your specific platform, not just the KMP brand generically.

Every KMP wheel needs the correct boss kit for your chassis, and if your car has an airbag, you need an airbag delete plate or a compatible aftermarket airbag solution to stay road legal. This is a track-focused wheel setup, so if the car is still driven on the road, check your state's rules on aftermarket steering wheels and airbag deletion before fitting.

On the BMW F8x and G8x M cars, the factory multi-function wiring runs through the column and connects into the KMP quick release base, so budget extra time for that connection on install day. On the Porsche 991 and 992 GT3, the tighter column clearance means the boss kit needs to be correctly seated before the quick release goes on, we have seen rushed installs sit slightly proud and rub on the indicator stalk. GR86 and GR Corolla installs are generally the most straightforward of the three platforms.

Will a KMP wheel fit my exact model and year?
Fitment depends on the boss kit for your chassis and whether your car has multi-function buttons or an airbag from factory. Confirm your model and year with us before ordering so we can match the correct boss kit and delete plate.

Can I use a quick release hub from another brand with a KMP wheel?
We do not recommend it. KMP hubs and wheels are matched to each other and mixing brands can leave the detent not seating properly, which is a safety risk. Use the KMP hub with the KMP wheel.

Does the shift light kit work on any car, or is it platform-specific?
It is platform-specific. BMW, Porsche and Toyota GR kits use different wiring looms, so order the kit made for your exact platform, not just any KMP shift light kit.

Is a KMP steering wheel road legal in Australia?
That depends on your state's rules around aftermarket steering wheels and airbag deletion, and whether your car is street registered or track only. Check your local requirements before fitting, especially if you are removing a factory airbag.
