Watch for these details in the product title. Some BMW M3/M4 kits are split by RWD and xDrive. Some MINI kits suit only non-DDC vehicles, meaning cars without factory adaptive dampers. Some kits are supplied without top mounts, while others come with pillow ball top mounts. Installation & What You'll Need

Most installs are a bolt-in swap of the strut and spring assembly. Once the car is lowered, front camber often goes negative and rear geometry shifts. Camber plates, camber arms, toe arms or an alignment kit are often needed to bring things back into spec, and a wheel alignment afterwards is essential. Worn sway bar end links and bushings are usually replaced at the same time while everything is apart. Ride height and alignment are typically re-checked after a few hundred kilometres, once the springs have bedded in.

Installation by a professional is recommended. A suspension specialist or qualified mechanic will have spring compressors and the correct torque specs on hand.

Do I need an alignment after fitting coilovers?
Yes. Ride height, camber and toe all change, so a wheel alignment is essential to bring the car back within spec and avoid uneven tyre wear.

Can I change ride height without changing spring preload?
On most kits, yes. Height adjusts at the lower bracket or perch independently of preload, within the range the kit allows.

How low can I go before it causes problems?
Going too low runs out of shock travel and upsets the suspension geometry. Most kits list a recommended height range, and staying inside it keeps the car driveable on Australian roads.
