The E36 BMW M3 was sold new in Australia from 1994 to 2000, including the local M3-R. It uses the S50 inline-six, first as a 3.0L and later as a 3.2L, driving the rear wheels. Many chassis parts are shared with the E36 3 Series, and some carry over to the E46. This page lists the parts we stock for the E36 M3, from AST and MOTON coilovers, Dinan braces and springs and SPL bushings to Paragon big brake kits, Radium fuel parts and a Wavetrac diff.
Suspension: AST and MOTON coilovers, AST lowering springs, the Dinan Stage 1 suspension system and Dinan front and rear strut braces.
Bushings and arms: SPL rear camber links and knuckle, trailing arm and upper control arm bushings to replace tired factory rubber.
Brakes: Paragon 4-piston and 6-piston front big brake kits.
Fuel and cooling: Radium fuel pump hangers, plumbing kits and line retainers, plus a Koyorad performance radiator.
Driveline and exhaust: Wavetrac limited slip diff and ring gear bolts for the 188 rear axle, and a Scorpion cat-back exhaust.
Engine: ARP rod bolts for the S50B30.
Choosing the Right Part
3.0L or 3.2L: some engine parts, such as the ARP rod bolts, are made for the S50B30 only. Check the engine code in the title.
Gearbox and diff: the Koyorad radiator suits manual cars, and the Wavetrac diff is listed by axle size and ratio. Check your diff before ordering.
Age and past repairs: these cars are now 25 to 30 years old. Bushes are often worn and earlier owners may have fitted non-standard parts, so inspect before you order.
Installation
Have a qualified workshop fit suspension, brake, fuel and driveline parts. Get a wheel alignment after any suspension change, and bleed and road-test the brakes after brake work. Follow the maker's instructions and torque settings.
