SPL Parts | Aerospace-Grade Adjustable Suspension Geometry

SPL Parts Suspension

We sell and fit SPL Parts adjustable suspension arms on customer cars from Sydney street builds through to time attack cars running at The Bend and Wakefield Park. Every arm is machined in the USA from 6061-T6 billet aluminium with FK Teflon-lined spherical bearings, and uses SPL's Double Adjuster system so you can correct camber, toe and roll centre without pulling the arm off the car. It is a proper alternative to worn OEM rubber bushings for anyone chasing consistent alignment under load.

Why SPL

We started stocking SPL because it solves a real problem: once you lower a car on coilovers, factory control arm geometry goes out the window and no amount of alignment shop fiddling fixes it. SPL's arms build the correction into the part. The Double Adjuster means you can tweak camber or toe trackside between sessions instead of booking back in with an alignment machine. The spherical bearings do add some road noise compared to rubber, which is the trade-off for zero deflection under cornering load. For a car that sees track days, that trade-off is worth it every time.

Fitment & Installation

Fitment is model and chassis specific, so check the exact arm against your chassis code (F80 vs G80, ZN6 vs ZN8, and so on) before ordering. On BMW M3/M4, the front lower control arms are for RWD variants. On GR86/BRZ, the rear camber and toe links are the most common upgrade paired with lowering springs or coilovers, since the factory geometry runs out of camber adjustment quickly once ride height drops.

Where SPL fits titanium hardware, it is blue anodised from the factory and does not need thread lock. Torque it to SPL's spec, not OEM spec: the spherical bearing setup carries load differently to a rubber bush, so the OEM torque figures for that bolt do not apply here. Titanium is also lighter than the steel hardware it replaces, which keeps unsprung weight down on a part that moves with the wheel. If you are running aggressive camber for track use, expect to re-check alignment after the first few heat cycles as bearings bed in.

FAQ
Why does SPL use titanium hardware instead of steel?

Titanium hardware cuts unsprung weight compared to the steel hardware it replaces. Since suspension arms move with the wheel, keeping that mass down lets the damper react faster to bumps, which means more grip and a more communicative chassis. It comes blue anodised from the factory and does not need thread lock, but it must be torqued to SPL's own spec rather than OEM figures.

Do I need to remove the arms to adjust alignment?

No. The Double Adjuster and rotating clamp design let you make alignment changes with the arm still bolted to the car. That makes trackside adjustments much faster than fighting jam nuts.

Will SPL arms fit my exact model?

Check the chassis code before ordering. BMW M3/M4 arms are chassis specific (F80/F82 vs G80/G82), and GR86/BRZ links differ from the older ZN6/ZC6 to the current ZN8/ZD8. If you are not sure, send us your rego or chassis code and we will confirm.

What warranty applies to SPL Parts?

SPL Parts are covered by manufacturer warranty against defects. Wear items like bearings are not covered once installed and used on track, which is normal for solid spherical suspension components.
