The Porsche 911 GT3 (996) was sold new in Australia as the 996.1 from 1999 to 2001 and the 996.2 from 2003 to 2005. It is the track-focused 911, with a naturally aspirated 3.6L Mezger flat-six, rear-wheel drive and a lower, stiffer chassis than the Carrera. Popular upgrades for the GT3 996

Choosing the Right Part
- GT3 or Carrera: the GT3 has its own suspension, so choose coilovers listed for the GT2/GT3, not the Carrera.
- Street or track: MOTON offers a Street/Clubsport kit and a Race Only kit. The race kit is not meant for road use.
- Cup parts: some GSC parts are listed for GT3 Cup engines. Check with us that they suit your road car engine.
Installation
Have a Porsche specialist fit engine and valvetrain parts, and a qualified workshop fit suspension and brakes. Get a wheel alignment and corner weight after any suspension change, and bleed and road-test the brakes after brake work. Always follow the maker's instructions and torque settings.
