The Porsche 911 GT3 RS (997.1) was sold new in Australia from 2006 to 2008. It takes the 997.1 GT3's naturally aspirated 3.6L Mezger engine and rear-drive chassis and adds a wider rear body, lighter weight and an even stronger track focus. Choosing the Right Part
- RS or GT3: most chassis and engine parts here fit both, but body and aero parts differ. Check "RS" in the title.
- Track use: corner weight the car after fitting coilovers and adjustable arms, and check settings after each track day.
- Rear caliper size: Frenkit lists separate front and rear kits, so order one for each axle you rebuild.
Installation
Have a Porsche specialist fit engine and valvetrain parts, and a qualified workshop fit suspension and brakes. Get a wheel alignment and corner weight after any suspension change, and bleed and road-test the brakes after brake work. Always follow the maker's instructions and torque settings.
