BMW M135i / M140i (F20) 2012–2019 Performance Parts & Upgrades
The BMW M135i and M140i (F20) were the rear-drive hot hatches of the F20 1 Series, sold in Australia from 2012 to 2019. The M135i used the N55 3.0L turbocharged inline-six, and the M140i that replaced it in 2016 moved to the B58. Both share much of their suspension and many engine parts with the 2 Series, 3 Series and 4 Series of the same era. Popular upgrades for the M135i and M140i
- Intake and turbo: aFe and MST intakes and turbo inlet pipes, Wagner Tuning intercoolers, and GFB and Turbosmart diverter and blow-off valves.
- Exhaust: Scorpion and MST downpipes, Scorpion cat-back exhausts and exhaust accessories.
- Engine: Dinan ignition coils and spark plugs, and GSC Power-Division camshafts, valves, guides, springs and stem seals.

Choosing the Right Part
- M135i or M140i: the M135i has the N55 engine and the M140i has the B58. Engine, intake, turbo and downpipe parts are made for one engine only, so check the engine code in the title.
- Build date: some parts, such as Scorpion's M135i downpipe, are made for cars built before June 2013 only.
- Shared parts: many suspension parts are listed for the 1, 2, 3 and 4 Series (F2X/F3X). Check that the title covers the F20.
- Adaptive dampers: cars with adaptive (EDC) dampers need a matching coilover kit or Öhlins' EDC cancellation kit.
Installation
Have a qualified workshop fit suspension, brake, cooling and engine parts. Get a wheel alignment after any suspension change and bleed and road-test the brakes after brake work. Intake, turbo and exhaust upgrades often need a tune to suit; ask us if you're unsure.
