KORSH Downpipe Catless$899.00

The KORSH Civic Type R downpipe is the most effective bolt-on exhaust modification you can make to the FK8 or FL5. The factory downpipe is the most restrictive section of the entire exhaust system — replacing it opens up the turbo outlet, improves spool response, and gives your tuner significantly more room to extract power from the K20C1. Available in catless and 200-cell high-flow catted configurations.

What separates this downpipe from cheaper alternatives is the construction. KORSH uses cast stainless steel flanges on both the turbo outlet and mid-pipe connections — not laser-cut flat plate flanges. Cast flanges are moulded to match the exact profile of each connection point, distributing clamping force evenly across the sealing surface. This means a consistent, leak-free seal that stays sealed through thousands of heat cycles. Flat flanges are cheaper to produce but are more susceptible to warping under the sustained thermal stress of the K20C1 turbo outlet — and an exhaust leak at the turbo affects boost control, EGT readings, and wideband accuracy.

The downpipe includes an integrated thermal barrier heat shield that reduces radiant heat into the engine bay. The K20C1's downpipe runs close to wiring, hoses, and the firewall — a coated downpipe keeps engine bay temperatures lower, protects surrounding components, and maintains exhaust gas velocity by keeping heat in the gas rather than losing it through the pipe walls. This is a factory-applied coating, not exhaust wrap — it won't trap moisture, won't degrade, and provides consistent thermal protection for the life of the product.

Both the FK8 (2017–2021) and FL5 (2023+) use the same K20C1 turbo engine with the same turbo outlet flange and downpipe routing. This downpipe is a direct bolt-on replacement for both generations — no cutting, no welding, no modification. Remove the factory unit and bolt the KORSH downpipe in its place using the factory hardware locations. A flex section is incorporated to accommodate engine movement and prevent stress cracking at the flange joints.

Catless vs 200-Cell Catted

The catless configuration provides maximum exhaust flow and is for race and motorsport use only — not intended for road-registered vehicles. The 200-cell catted configuration uses a high-flow metal matrix catalytic converter that flows significantly more than the factory unit while retaining catalytic conversion. The power difference between catted and catless on the K20C1 is typically 5–10whp — for any car driven on public roads, the 200-cell catted option is the sensible choice.

Specifications

Flanges: Cast stainless steel — turbo outlet and mid-pipe connection
- Material: Stainless steel construction with integrated flex section
- Heat Shield: Factory-applied thermal barrier coating
- Configurations: Catless (race/motorsport only) or 200-cell high-flow catalytic converter
- Fitment: Honda Civic Type R FK8 (2017–2021) and FL5 (2023+) — K20C1 turbo
- Installation: Direct bolt-on, factory mounting points

What's Included

• Complete downpipe assembly with integrated heat shield
- All necessary mounting hardware and gaskets

Vehicle Fitment

• Honda Civic Type R FK8 — 2017–2021 — K20C1 Turbo
- Honda Civic Type R FL5 — 2023+ — K20C1 Turbo

Professional ECU tuning is required after installation. Running an aftermarket downpipe on the factory tune will trigger check engine lights and can cause unsafe fuelling conditions. Budget for a professional tune from a reputable Honda tuner experienced with the K20C1.
