Hardrace Suspension & Chassis Parts
We fit a lot of Hardrace gear at Chicane, from roll centre adjusters on lowered GR86s to full bushing kits on tired Evo chassis. It's the part of a build most people skip, but it's what makes the rest of your suspension actually work as designed. We recommend it for anything from a daily-driven WRX to a car that only sees The Bend on weekends.

Why Hardrace
Hardrace sits in the gap between soft factory rubber and full spherical race parts. Their Harden Rubber compound is claimed to be around 150% stronger than OE rubber, which cuts down on unwanted deflection under load without turning the cabin into a drum. For cars that see track days, their Pillow Ball (spherical) range takes it further again, giving zero deflection for the most direct feedback through the wheel.
On a GR Yaris or Civic Type R, that means control arms and bushings that hold their alignment settings under hard cornering instead of letting camber and toe wander as the factory rubber compresses. On an Evo or WRX/STI with some kilometres up, a full bushing kit brings back the tight, direct feel the car had when new, and stops the vague, wandering sensation that worn rubber causes on the highway. On a lowered GR86 or BRZ, roll centre adjusters correct the geometry that a lowered ride height throws out, which is something coilovers alone don't fix.
We're based on the Central Coast and we genuinely run this gear ourselves, so the advice on bushing material and arm configuration comes from experience, not a spec sheet.
Fitment & Installation
Hardrace parts are designed around specific chassis codes, so always confirm your exact model and year before ordering, particularly on AU-delivered vehicles where trim and suspension tune can differ from JDM or US-market equivalents. Adjustable control arms and roll centre adjusters usually need a wheel alignment straight after fitment, so factor that into the job. Some bushing kits are a press-fit and are easier with the arm off the car and a proper press or vice, rather than trying to do it in situ. If you're combining Hardrace arms with coilovers from another brand, double check thread and rod end clearance before final assembly.

FAQ
Should I choose Harden Rubber or Pillow Ball bushings?
Harden Rubber suits street-driven performance cars and daily drivers, giving better precision without the noise and harshness of a metal bearing. Pillow Ball (spherical) bushings suit dedicated track and race cars where feedback and zero deflection matter more than cabin comfort.
Why do I need roll centre adjusters on a lowered car?
Lowering a car changes the angle of the control arms, which pushes the roll centre further into the ground. That adds body roll even with stiffer springs. Roll centre adjusters bring the arms back closer to their optimal position, which restores geometry and improves mechanical grip.
Will Hardrace parts fit my exact model?
Most Hardrace kits are built for specific chassis codes and sometimes specific model years, so check your vehicle details against the listing before ordering. Get in touch if you're not sure.
Do I need a wheel alignment after fitting these?
Yes. Any adjustable control arm or roll centre adjuster will change your alignment, so book one in straight after fitment.
Do Hardrace parts come with a warranty?
Yes, Hardrace parts are covered by manufacturer warranty against defects. Contact us if you have any issues with fitment or a suspected fault.
