Hardrace is a Taiwanese manufacturer of reinforced bushings, adjustable control arms, roll centre adjusters and chassis hardware for Japanese and European performance cars. Chicane stocks a large Hardrace range, from roll centre adjusters for lowered GR86s to full bushing kits for high-kilometre Evo and WRX chassis.
Hardrace sits between soft factory rubber and full spherical race parts. Hardrace states its Harden Rubber compound is around 150% stronger than OE rubber, reducing deflection under load without the noise of a metal joint. Its Pillow Ball (spherical) range goes further, eliminating deflection for the most direct steering feedback on track cars.
Firmer bushings and adjustable arms help a car hold its alignment settings under hard cornering, rather than letting camber and toe wander as factory rubber compresses. On older, high-kilometre chassis, a full bushing kit replaces perished rubber and restores a tighter, more direct feel. On lowered cars, roll centre adjusters correct geometry that a lower ride height throws out, which coilovers alone don't fix.
Choosing the Right Part
Hardrace parts are designed around specific chassis codes, so confirm your exact model and year before ordering, particularly on AU-delivered vehicles where trim and suspension can differ from JDM or US-market equivalents. If you're combining Hardrace arms with coilovers from another brand, check thread and rod end clearance.
Installation & What You'll Need
Installation by a professional is recommended. Many bushing kits are press-fit and need a hydraulic press with the arm removed from the car. Adjustable control arms and roll centre adjusters need a wheel alignment straight after installation.
Should I choose Harden Rubber or Pillow Ball bushings? Harden Rubber suits street-driven performance cars and daily drivers, giving better precision without the noise and harshness of a metal bearing. Pillow Ball (spherical) bushings suit dedicated track and race cars where feedback matters more than cabin comfort.
Why do I need roll centre adjusters on a lowered car? Lowering changes the angle of the control arms and moves the roll centre down, adding body roll even with stiffer springs. Roll centre adjusters bring the arms back towards their intended angle, restoring geometry and mechanical grip.
Will Hardrace parts fit my exact model? Most Hardrace kits are built for specific chassis codes and sometimes specific model years. Check your vehicle details against the listing, or contact us if you're unsure.
Do I need a wheel alignment after fitting these? Yes. Any adjustable control arm or roll centre adjuster changes alignment, so book one in straight after installation.
Do Hardrace parts come with a warranty? Yes, Hardrace parts carry manufacturer warranty against defects. Contact us if you suspect a fault.
