Overview
The COBB Intercooler Kit for the Honda Civic Type R FL5 is a complete bolt-in upgrade designed to improve cooling efficiency, reduce heat-soak, and support higher power levels. Even at stock output, the factory intercooler can struggle with heat management under heavy load. The COBB system significantly increases cooling capacity while maintaining efficient airflow, ensuring consistent and reliable performance from the turbocharged K20C engine.

Intercooler Core
At the heart of the kit is a Garrett intercooler core that is 101% larger than the factory unit, measuring 26.2" x 7" x 4.25". Custom COBB-designed end tanks optimise flow and evenly disperse air across the core, providing excellent cooling efficiency without compromising airflow.

Charge Piping
The kit includes 2.5" mandrel-bent aluminium tubing finished with a wrinkle black powder coat. High-quality silicone couplers and constant-tension clamps ensure a secure, leak-free installation capable of handling increased boost pressures.

Mounting
The intercooler fits in the OEM location with no modification required on the FL5 Type R. Bespoke billet upper mounts and reinforced bushings are included to properly support the upgraded aluminium core and end tanks, ensuring long-term durability.
