Alcon Front Big Brake Kit - Mazda RX-7 (FD3S)

This Alcon front big brake kit is built for the Mazda RX-7 (FD3S). It pairs an Alcon 4- or 6-piston caliper with a larger 2-piece floating rotor on a vehicle-specific billet hat and bracket, giving more thermal capacity, less unsprung weight and a firmer, more consistent pedal than the factory brakes. It suits fast road cars, track days and motorsport, and we can help put together a package that is Group 3E compliant for Production Car Australia.

Choose your caliper

• CAR97: monobloc 6-piston caliper with dust seals for road and track days. 355x32mm or 380x32mm rotors.
• CAR99: the CAR99 "Mono6" 6-piston caliper with dust seals for road and track. 355x32mm, 365x34mm, 380x32mm or 380x36mm rotors.
• CAR89 "TA6+": motorsport-derived 6-piston caliper with high-temperature dust seals, so it can still be engineered for road use. 365x34mm, 380x34mm or 380x36mm rotors.
• CAR89 "Motorsport": the race version of the CAR89, supplied as the CAR8949Y26 caliper with 27.0 / 31.8 / 38.1mm stainless steel pistons, anti-knockback springs and a bolted pad retainer. No dust boots, so it is for track and competition use. Same rotor choices as the TA6+.
• CAR89 "ENP": the CAR89 with electroless nickel plating for corrosion resistance, supplied as the CAR8959Y16PES caliper with 27.0 / 31.8 / 38.1mm pistons. It keeps high-temperature dust seals like the TA6+, so it suits road and track and can be engineered for road use. Same rotor choices as the TA6+.
• CR6420: billet 6-piston endurance caliper that takes a 25mm-thick pad for long race stints. 365x34mm, 380x34mm or 380x36mm rotors.
• CAR49 "TA4+": 4-piston caliper with dust seals for road and track, for cars on 17" wheels. 332x28mm or 343x28mm rotors.
• CRB343: 4-piston race caliper with no dust boots, for track use on 17" wheels. 332x28mm or 343x28mm rotors.
• CAR89 "Billet": billet version of the CAR89 for track use only, taking an 18mm-thick pad. 365x34mm, 380x34mm or 380x36mm rotors.

Then pick your rotor size and brand: Alcon rotors on 355x32mm, 365x34mm, 380x32mm and 380x34mm; Paragon rotors on 332x28mm, 343x28mm, 355x32mm and 380x36mm; DIXCEL rotors on 355x32mm.

Replacement rotor rings: when the rotor rings wear out, use our Rotor Ring Finder to find the right replacement.

Brake fluid: bleed the new system with Alcon PRO-600 for road and track days, or PRO-660 for racing.

Note: The included pads are basic street pads for road use only, so fit a track compound before track days. Check wheel clearance before ordering: the 6-piston kits need 18" wheels or larger, and the 4-piston kits (332 or 343mm rotors) suit 17" wheels. Kits are made to order. Installation by a professional is recommended.
