The second BMW-era MINI Cooper S (R56) was sold new in Australia from 2007 to 2014, with a turbocharged 1.6L four-cylinder and front-wheel drive. A late-2010 facelift brought an updated engine, and John Cooper Works and JCW GP versions were offered. Intake and turbo: ALTA cold air intakes and high-flow panel filters, aFe parts and downpipes.
Boost: Turbosmart and GFB blow off and diverter valves, the GFB DV+, and the ALTA blow off valve spring upgrade.
Intercooler and exhaust: Wagner Tuning intercoolers, Scorpion cat-backs and the Borla S-Type cat-back.

Choosing the Right Part

Pre-facelift or facelift: the late-2010 facelift changed the engine, so some engine and turbo parts are made for one version only. Check the years or engine in the title.
Brake type: R56 cars came with standard or JCW brakes in 1-piston and 4-piston form. Match brake parts to your calipers.
R56 or R53: the R53 is supercharged, so engine parts are not shared. Some HARDRACE and AST suspension parts fit both.

Installation

Have a qualified workshop fit turbo, intercooler and suspension parts. Get a wheel alignment after any suspension change. Boost and intake upgrades may need a tune; ask us if you're unsure.
