Honda Civic Type R (EP3) 2001–2007 Performance Parts & Upgrades
The Honda Civic Type R (EP3) is a three-door hatch built from 2001 to 2007, with the 2.0L K20A i-VTEC engine driving the front wheels through a six-speed manual. It shares its engine and much of its front suspension with the Integra Type R (DC5), so many parts fit both. This page lists the parts we stock for the EP3, from HARDRACE arms, bushings and engine mounts to GSC Power-Division valves and guides, AST and MOTON coilovers, a Wavetrac diff, a Link ECU and Acuity fuel and sensor parts.
Suspension: AST, MOTON and HARDRACE HS Spec coilovers, AST lowering springs, HARDRACE rear lower arms, sway bars, stabiliser links, rear camber kits and tie rods.
Bushings and mounts: HARDRACE front lower arm bushings in hardened rubber or pillow ball, plus hardened engine and transmission mounts.
Engine: GSC Power-Division intake and exhaust valves and bronze valve guides, ARP head studs and a Koyorad radiator.
Fuel and electronics: Acuity fuel rail and throttle position sensor, Radium fuel rail plumbing and the Link CIVICLink ECU.
Driveline: Wavetrac front limited slip diff and a Clutchmasters twin-disc clutch.
Choosing the Right Part
Pre-facelift or facelift: some HARDRACE front lower control arms are made for pre-facelift cars only. Check the title against your build date.
K20A, not K20C: engine parts marked K20C or FK8/FL5 are for the later turbo Type R and won't fit the EP3.
Worn parts on older cars: most EP3s now have worn bushes and mounts. Replacing them as a set gives a more even result than doing one at a time.
Installation
Have a qualified workshop fit suspension, engine and driveline parts. Get a wheel alignment after any suspension change. An ECU change or engine build needs a tune, so ask us if you're unsure.
