Frenkit Caliper Rebuild Kits Australia
We fit Frenkit caliper rebuild kits into everything from daily-driven WRXs doing the Sydney commute to Evos and 911s that see proper track time at The Bend. Frenkit makes seal and piston kits that match the original caliper, Brembo, Sumitomo, Akebono, so you rebuild the caliper you already have instead of paying for a whole new unit. If your pedal has gone soft, a piston is weeping fluid, or a slider pin has seized, a rebuild kit is usually the fix. It's the same job workshops do on race cars between meetings, just applied to a street car.

Why Frenkit
We stock Frenkit because it's built to match the caliper it's going into, not a generic universal seal. A Sumitomo caliper off an R33 or an early WRX needs different seal profiles to a Brembo 4-pot off an Evo, and Frenkit kits are cut for the specific caliper casting. We've used them to bring tired, weeping calipers back to a firm pedal on cars that would otherwise need a full caliper swap. For a lot of these older platforms, genuine caliper seals are getting hard to find, which makes Frenkit the practical option, not just the cheaper one.
Fitment & Installation
Match the kit to your actual caliper, not just the model name. Plenty of these platforms ran more than one caliper type across their production run (WRX alone had Sumitomo and Brembo depending on model and year), so check the piston count and caliper brand before ordering. On the R32/R33 Skyline, the front Sumitomo caliper is a common weeping point at the outer seal, you'll usually see fluid tracking down the inside of the wheel before the pedal goes soft. A rebuild means stripping the caliper fully, honing the bore if needed, and replacing every seal, boot and clip in the kit, not just the obvious ones. Bleed from the furthest caliper back to the closest, and do a full pedal bleed rather than just cracking the nipple once, trapped air behind a fresh piston seal is the most common reason for a spongy pedal after a rebuild. Guide pins and shims are a separate job to the seal kit itself. Read our guides on Frenkit vs genuine OEM caliper seals and the signs your caliper needs a rebuild kit before you start.

FAQ
Does a Frenkit kit fit my exact model and year?
It depends on which caliper your car actually came with, not just the model name. Check the caliper brand (Sumitomo, Brembo, Akebono) and piston count against the kit listing before buying.
Is a Frenkit seal kit as good as OEM?
Frenkit is a genuine aftermarket manufacturer, not a generic knockoff. Kits are made to the same dimensions as the original seals, and are a sound option where OEM parts are hard to source.
Do I need to rebuild both calipers on an axle at the same time?
We'd recommend it. Rebuilding one side and leaving the other worn can cause uneven braking and pad wear.
Why are GR86 and Civic Type R on the same page?
They're not related platforms, we've grouped them because both run Brembo calipers and Frenkit's kit range for each is small. If you're after one specifically, use the search or filter on that page.
Do you ship these kits Australia-wide?
Yes, we ship nationally.
