BMW X3 M40i / X4 M40i G01 / G02 Performance Parts & Upgrades
The BMW X3 M40i (G01) and X4 M40i (G02) were sold new in Australia from 2018, with a facelift in late 2021. Both use the B58 3.0L turbocharged inline-six with xDrive all-wheel drive, so most engine, exhaust and suspension parts suit either body. The B58 also powers the M340i, M440i and Z4 M40i. This page lists the parts we stock for the X3 and X4 M40i, including aFe, Dinan and MST cold air intakes, Dinan turbo inlets and valved cat-back exhausts, Scorpion downpipes and AST and Dinan lowering springs.
Intake: aFe Momentum GT, Dinan and MST cold air intakes.
Turbo: Dinan B58 turbo inlet fit kits for early and facelift cars.
Exhaust: Scorpion downpipes and Dinan valved cat-back exhausts in black or polished tips.
Suspension: AST and Dinan lowering springs.
Engine bay: Dinan carbon fibre engine covers.
Choosing the Right Part
Early or facelift: the facelift arrived in late 2021. Some turbo inlet kits are made for one version, so check for "LCI" in the title.
Mild hybrid: later cars have 48V mild-hybrid assist. The Scorpion downpipe is made for the MHEV car.
X3 or X4: engine and exhaust parts are shared, but check the title for springs and body-specific parts.
Not the X3 M: the X3 M and X4 M (F97 / F98) use the S58 engine and need their own parts. Shop the X3 M page.
Installation
Have a qualified workshop fit springs, exhausts and turbo parts. Get a wheel alignment after lowering the car. Intakes and downpipes often need a tune to run at their best; ask us if you're unsure.
