PRL Motorsports titanium brake shims fit between the front brake pads and caliper pistons on the Honda Civic Type R (FK8 and FL5) and other cars with the same Brembo front caliper, where they act as a heat barrier. Repeated hard stops on the track or a mountain road push pad heat into the pistons, seals and brake fluid, which is what leads to fade and a soft pedal. Each shim is cut from 1.0mm Grade 5 (6Al-4V) titanium, which passes far less heat than a steel shim, so the caliper and fluid run cooler and the brakes stay consistent for longer.

Note: Front only, for factory Brembo 4-piston front calipers. PRL lists the FK8 and FL5 Civic Type R; the same pad shape is used by the Brembo front calipers on the Subaru WRX STI (GD, GR/GV and VA) and the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI to IX, so the shims suit those too. Not for the Lancer Evolution X. Sold as a set of four, enough for both front calipers. Installation by a professional is recommended.
