GrimmSpeed Titanium Front Brake Shims - Subaru WRX STI (GD / GR / GV / VA) - 4-Piston Brembo

GrimmSpeed titanium brake shims sit between the front brake pads and caliper pistons on the Subaru WRX STI from the GD (2002-2007) through the GR and GV (2008-2014) to the VA built before July 2017, where they act as a heat barrier. Hard driving on a track day or a mountain road pushes a lot of heat from the pads into the pistons, seals and brake fluid, and that is what brings on fade and a long, soft pedal. Each shim is cut from 1.0mm Grade 5 (6Al-4V) titanium, which passes far less heat than the usual steel shim, so the calipers and fluid stay cooler and the brakes stay consistent for longer.

Note: Front only, for the factory Brembo 4-piston front calipers on the WRX STI GD, GR, GV and the VA up to July 2017. VA STIs from the July 2017 (MY18) update have 6-piston front calipers and need the 6-piston set. Sold as a set of four, one per pad, enough for both front calipers. Installation by a professional is recommended.
