Alcon Calipers Rear CAR49 4-Piston

The Alcon CAR49 is a high-performance rear brake caliper developed for dedicated track and motorsport applications. Made from forged aerospace-grade aluminium, it offers exceptional stiffness and low weight, delivering consistent and reliable braking under extreme race conditions.

This caliper uses equal-sized 31.8mm stainless steel pistons, vented to reduce heat transfer and maintain fluid performance during high-temperature operation. With no dust seals, the CAR49 is designed strictly for closed-course environments where performance takes priority over contamination resistance.

2kg anti-knock back springs are included to ensure consistent pad contact and prevent pad knock-off on high-speed circuits. A bolted pad retainer increases overall stiffness and can be removed for fast pad changes, while internal fluid transfer eliminates the need for external crossover pipes.

The caliper is designed to be mounted in either leading or trailing position by switching the bleed screw and fluid inlet, offering flexibility in fitment across a wide range of race car platforms.
