Wavetrac Front Differential for Audi RS3 / TT RS (DQ500)
The Wavetrac limited slip differential for the Audi RS3 (8V / 8Y) and TT RS (8S) is built for the front differential of the 7-speed DQ500 (0BH) S tronic gearbox. It replaces the factory open front differential with a helical torque-biasing design that sends torque to the wheel with grip, reducing inside-wheel spin out of slow and medium-speed corners.
Choosing the Right Part
This unit suits DQ500 (0BH) equipped RS3 and TT RS models only. Golf R, GTI and other VW/Audi models use different gearboxes and need a different Wavetrac unit; see the Wavetrac Golf R collection and the Wavetrac Golf GTI / Polo collection. Rear RS3/TT RS applications are not offered.
Why Wavetrac
A Wavetrac is a gear-type (helical) differential with no clutch packs, so there are no wear items to rebuild and no daily-driving harshness. Wavetrac's patented design is intended to keep biasing torque even when one wheel is unloaded. The benefit is most noticeable on cars making more torque than stock.
Installation & What You'll Need
Installation by a professional driveline specialist is recommended. This is a gearbox-out job, so factor in labour, fresh transmission fluid of the correct specification and new hardware where specified.

FAQ
Does this fit manual RS3 or TT RS cars? No. This unit is for the DQ500 S tronic gearbox only.
Is this the same as the Golf R differential? No. The Golf R uses different gearboxes (02Q, DQ250 or DQ381), each with its own Wavetrac unit.
Does it need a tune? No. It's a mechanical upgrade that works at any power level, though it's most noticeable with more torque than stock.
