The Wavetrac ATB differential for RS3 (8V) and TT RS (8S) is built specifically for the DQ500 S-tronic front differential housing, not the 02Q manual gearbox used on Golf R and GTI. We sell this into a lot of Sydney-based RS3 and TT RS owners chasing better front-end traction out of corners, whether that's a Saturday morning blast through the Old Pacific Highway or a full day of hot laps at The Bend. An open diff on these cars lets the inside front wheel spin under load, especially with any real power on tap. The Wavetrac ATB uses helical gears to bias torque to the wheel with grip, so power gets to the road instead of the traction control light.

Fitment & Installation
This unit is a direct fit into the factory DQ500 housing on RS3 (8V) and TT RS (8S) cars. It's a gearbox-out job, so factor in labour and use fresh OEM hardware where the transmission calls for it. This is not the same install as an install kit 02Q manual conversion, DQ500 cars don't use the 02Q install kits we stock for Golf R and GTI.

Does this fit manual RS3 or TT RS cars? No, this diff is built for the DQ500 S-tronic housing only. Manual 02Q platforms need a different Wavetrac unit.
Is this the same as the Golf R diff? No. Golf R and GTI run the 02Q manual gearbox with its own install kit and differential, the DQ500 is a separate housing and diff entirely.
Will this work with a stock ECU and tune? Yes, the ATB is a mechanical upgrade and works with any power level, though it's most noticeable once you're pushing more torque than stock.
