The 997.2 GT3 was sold new in Australia from 2009 to 2012. It is the track-focused 911 of the range, with a 3.8L naturally aspirated Mezger flat six, rear-wheel drive and a six-speed manual. Popular upgrades for the 997.2 GT3
- Coilovers: Öhlins R&T, MOTON and AST kits made for the 997 GT2, GT2 RS, GT3 and GT3 RS.
- Suspension arms and links: SPL trailing arms, bumpsteer toe arms, dogbone links, subframe bushings and lockout kits, HARDRACE caster, camber and toe arms, and Torque Solution drop links.
- Engine: GSC Power-Division Cup S exhaust camshafts, bronze valve guides and Viton valve stem seals for the Mezger engine, plus the COBB Accessport V3.
- Brakes: Frenkit front and rear caliper seal kits.

Choosing the Right Part
- GT3 or Carrera: GT3 coilovers and brake kits are made for the GT cars and won't suit a Carrera.
- Front caliper pistons: Frenkit makes front kits for 28/30/32mm and 28/32/38mm calipers. Check your calipers before you order.
- Cup engine parts: the GSC camshafts and valve guides are Cup-spec parts for engine builds. Talk to your engine builder first.
- Track alignment: adjustable arms and lockout kits let you set and hold more camber. Plan your settings before ordering.
Installation
Have a qualified workshop fit suspension, brake and drivetrain parts, and leave engine internals to a Porsche engine specialist. Get a wheel alignment after any suspension change and bleed the brakes after a caliper rebuild.
