Heat soak is the limit on most stock coolers. Once charge temps climb, the ECU pulls timing and the car feels flat after the first run. A larger bar and plate core holds a lower outlet temp for longer, so power stays consistent on a hot day or a second lap.

Bigger is not automatically better. A huge front mount adds volume and lag, and can block airflow to the radiator if the mounting is poor. Well designed cores balance core thickness, end tank shape and pressure drop, which is why we choose to carry the brands that state those numbers. Owners chasing quick response on a street car often do better with a quality OEM-location or top mount upgrade than the largest core they can fit.

Check year, trim and whether the car is AU-delivered before ordering. RHD cars can differ from the US-market fitment listed by some manufacturers, and washer bottle, battery or crash bar clearance often decides whether a front mount kit is a bolt-on or a trim-and-fabricate job. Top mount fitment on Subarus varies between GD, GR and VA generations, and some cores need the factory BOV or a relocated bracket.

Most installers find a direct-replacement top mount is a short job with basic hand tools, while a full front mount kit can mean removing the front bar, drilling brackets and routing new piping. Plan on new silicone joiners, T-bolt clamps and coolant or intake gaskets as needed. A tune or at least a boost check after fitting is worth doing, since a more efficient cooler changes the airflow the ECU sees.

Will an intercooler fit my exact year and trim?
Check the fitment notes on each product page against your build year, model code and whether the car is AU-delivered. Some kits are model-year specific, especially on Subaru and BMW platforms. Send us your details if you are unsure.

Do I need a tune after fitting one?
Not always, but it is recommended. Cooler, denser charge air changes what the ECU sees, and a retune lets you use the extra headroom safely.

Front mount or top mount for a Subaru?
Top mount upgrades keep the factory look and shorter piping, which suits street cars. Front mounts generally cool better under sustained load, which suits track use, but need more work to fit.

Is everything shipped Australia wide?
