GrimmSpeed Titanium Rear Brake Shims - Subaru WRX STI (VA) - MY18-MY21

GrimmSpeed titanium brake shims sit between the rear brake pads and caliper pistons on the Subaru WRX STI VA from the July 2017 (MY18) update to the end of production in 2021, where they act as a heat barrier. Hard driving on a track day or a mountain road pushes a lot of heat from the pads into the pistons, seals and brake fluid, and that is what brings on fade and a long, soft pedal. Each shim is cut from 1.0mm Grade 5 (6Al-4V) titanium, which passes far less heat than the usual steel shim, so the calipers and fluid stay cooler and the brakes stay consistent for longer.

Note: Rear only, for the factory Brembo 2-piston rear calipers on the VA WRX STI from the July 2017 (MY18) update. Earlier STIs use a different rear pad and need the pre-MY18 set. Sold as a set of four, one per pad, enough for both rear calipers. Installation by a professional is recommended.
