Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution II CE9A Performance Parts & Upgrades
The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution II (CE9A) replaced the Evo I in early 1994 and was built until early 1995 for the Japanese market, so Australian cars are JDM imports. GSR and RS versions were made, both with the 2.0L 4G63T turbo engine and all-wheel drive. The parts on this page focus on 4G63 engine work, with GSC Power-Division cams and valvetrain, Injector Dynamics injectors and Radium fuel parts, plus HARDRACE suspension, GFB and Turbosmart blow off valves, Frenkit rebuild kits and Alcon and Paragon big brake kits.
Valvetrain: GSC Power-Division camshafts, intake and exhaust valves, springs, titanium retainers, keepers, guides and seats.
Fuel: Injector Dynamics XDS injectors and Radium fuel line kits and filters.
Timing and boost: AEM Tru-Time cam gears and GFB and Turbosmart blow off valves.
Suspension: HARDRACE HS Spec coilovers, rear camber kits, toe arms and bushes.
Brakes and ECU: Alcon and Paragon front big brake kits, Frenkit caliper rebuild kits and the Link EVOLink ECU.
Choosing the Right Part
Evo I-III parts: the Evo II shares most parts with the Evo I and III. Parts listed for Evo IV-IX will not fit, as the platform changed.
Head size: GSC valves come in standard and oversize heads. Match them to your head work, or ask your engine builder.
Rubber or pillow ball: HARDRACE bushes come in both. Rubber suits a road car; pillow ball is sharper but noisier.
Installation
Engine internals, fuel and ECU work should be done by an experienced engine builder or tuner. Have suspension and brake parts fitted by a qualified workshop, get a wheel alignment afterwards, and bleed and road-test the brakes after brake work.
