HKS DCT Fluid Trans Cooler Kit – Nissan GT-R R35 (Version 1)

The HKS DCT Cooler Kit for the Nissan GT-R R35 is designed to control GR6 transmission temperatures during both street and circuit driving. The factory GR6 system is water-cooled, but under high load the oil temperature rises quickly, affecting shift quality, clutch protection, and drivetrain reliability. The HKS kit stabilises transmission oil temperature and improves long-term durability.

Product Overview

This kit uses a dedicated DCT cooler core mounted in the front left fender, paired with a specially designed FRP air duct. Oil flow efficiency is improved with larger -10 lines, and the system integrates with the factory heat exchanger and a dedicated HKS thermostat to speed up temperature stabilisation after cold starts.

Lower transmission temperatures allow for consistent shift quality, reduced clutch overheating, and extended fluid life. Because the DCT cooler assists the factory water-cooling circuit, small reductions in engine coolant temperature are also observed during hard driving.

Performance Testing

HKS in-house testing at Fuji Speedway showed:

• Water temperature reduction: approx. −5°C
• Stable continuous-lap DCT oil temperature: approx. 127°C
• Improved temperature recovery during cool-down

DCT (GR6) Notes

• Factory system is water-cooled
• Failsafe activates at approx. 140–145°C
• Nissan recommends oil replacement above 140°C
• If 4WD clutch temp rises, the car may switch to 2WD mode
