It lets you keep your existing GFB valve body while adapting it to suit a different flange pattern, saving you from buying a whole new unit.

This listing covers the 2001-2007 Subaru WRX, 2001-2007 Subaru STI, 2008-2014 Subaru STI, 2015-2021 Subaru STI and 2006-2008 Subaru Forester XT as an exact replacement adaptor. It also suits the 2003-2008 Subaru Forester XT, where it's used to convert the factory diamond flange over to the triangle flange pattern required by GFB T9000/T9100, T9200 and T9500 series valves.

Note: on the 2003-2008 Forester XT, fitting this adaptor changes the inlet from diamond flange to triangle flange, which is the reverse of most other applications listed here. This is also the part needed when upgrading an SG Forester to a Process West top mount intercooler setup.
